Senior State – The Championship Season rolls along this weekend with the Indiana Swimming Senior State Championships (March 12-14 @ IUPUI Natatorium). An informational email was sent to the families of our Senior State team members earlier this week but if anyone would like to follow along with the action, click HERE to visit the Senior State meet page which will include results and links to the live stream for the weekend. Good luck WTSC swimmers!

Last Chance Intrasquad – The fast swimming this weekend gets started a day early as 36 WTSC swimmers take to the water tonight at the Last Chance Intrasquad at North Central HS. Warmups will begin at 5:30pm with the meet starting at 6:15pm. Thank you to our parents and families who have filled the needed volunteer positions and for those unable to attend the meet tonight, it will be streamed live on the WTSC Facebook page. Good luck WTSC swimmers!

Divisionals Recap – The recently concluded Divisional weekend was long but successful and it was another in a long line of outstanding WTSC hosted events. We cannot thank our parents and families enough for their dedication to our team and their willingness to step up and staff this event including all the extra positions and protocols that were necessary due to the pandemic. Special thanks to our meet directors Autumn Leppert and Emily Wolfe and our club business manager Jennifer Buddenbaum for their long hours and hard work before, during and after the meet to make sure everything went smoothly. These efforts set the stage for an impressive showing by our swimmers with many noteworthy performances. An updated Honor Roll has been posted on the club website, but the following swimmers deserve some special shout-outs for their efforts. First, welcome to WTSC to Olivia Bourquein, David Diercks and Eleanor Reno who swam in their first meet as a member of the team. One major goal of swimmers at Divisionals is to make state cuts and WTSC swimmers set the standard in that category. Congratulations to Katie Countryman (50 Freestyle), Sebastian Granados (50 & 100 Breaststroke) and Sammy Wolfe (50 & 100 Freestyle) who made their first Age Group State cuts of the season. And congratulations to Sarah McPherson (50, 100 & 200 Freestyle; 200 IM) and Lillian Tabor (50 Freestyle; 100 Backstroke) who added AG State cuts to their event lists. The 50 Freestyle swims for Katie Countryman and Sarah McPherson were also their first Zone cuts of the season. Brooks Hillenbrand made the first Speedo Sectional cut of his career and picked up a new Senior State cut in the 100 Breaststroke. And Chance Buckles (200 Backstroke) and Eleanor Reno (100 Butterfly) added to their SR State lists. And the following WTSC swimmers brought home the gold with first place finishes in their respective events: Chance Buckles (200 Backstroke), Sebastian Granados (50 Breaststroke), Brooks Hillenbrand (100 Breaststroke), Sarah McPherson (50, 100 & 200 Freestyle; 200 IM), Eleanor Reno (100 Butterfly), Jack Steadham (100 Backstroke), Lillian Tabor (100 Backstroke), Annie Wolfe (200 Freestyle) and Sammy Wolfe (50 & 100 Freestyle). Check out the Honor Roll for these accomplishments and many more from the weekend. Thank you again to our parents and families and way to go WTSC swimmers!
