Northside Invite Recap – WTSC swimmers took full advantage of their last chance to make Divisional and State cuts over the weekend at the Northside Invitational. Thank you to the WTSC parents who helped run Friday night’s session. And way to go to all WTSC swimmers on their performance. The following swimmers, however, earned special shout outs. First, welcome to WTSC to Lucie Buffington and Genevieve Skiles who raced in their first meet as members of our team. Congratulations to Reese Barnes (50 Freestyle), Ruby Chesebrough (50 Freestyle) and Cora Paige (100 Backstroke) who added their names to the Honor Roll for the first time with their first career Divisional cuts in their respective events. Amos Groothuis added to his Age Group State list with a new cut in the 50 Backstroke. And the following WTSC swimmers picked up new Divisional cuts in their respective events: Zachary Bumps (500 Freestyle), Georgia Coleman (100 & 200 Backstroke), Jamie Greaser (100 Butterfly), Noah Jaeger (50 Breaststroke), Brooks Klene (50 & 100 Breaststroke), Michael Leppert (200 Freestyle; 50 Backstroke), Molly Memmer (500 Freestyle), Madeline Nash (50 Backstroke) and Claire Strachota (50 & 100 Freestyle). And the Northside meet featured some elite competition but congratulations to Ethan Rodgers, who took home a first-place finish in the 200 Freestyle. An updated Honor Roll is posted online and at the pool. Check it out for these highlights and many more.

Congratulations – We are in the final week of high school swimming season with the IHSAA Boys State Championship meet this weekend. But the WTSC boys were swimming fast last weekend at Sectionals. Of note, Chance Buckles made a new Futures cut in the 100 Backstroke. Sam Wolfe made new Speedo Sectional cuts in the 200 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly. And David Diercks (200 IM) and Jack Steadham (100 Freestyle) made new Senior State cuts in their respective events. Good luck to all WTSC boys competing at State this weekend!

Central Mid Divisionals – “Championship Season” kicks off next weekend with seven Divisional meets around the state and WTSC is proud to host the Central Mid Divisionals (March 3-5 @ North Central HS). This is our final hosting duty of the short course season, and we will once again need our amazing parents and families to help us run the meet. A job signup is now live on the meet page on our website, and this event is subject to the worker requirements in your registration packet. Please speak with WTSC Business Manager Julie Spicer if you have questions about worker requirements. Entries are available for review online and at the pool; please speak with your group coach if you have questions about entries. Additional meet details will be provided as we get closer to the meet but get ready for the most exciting time of the year.

Senior State – Next up after Divisionals is the Indiana Swimming Senior State Championships (March 9-12 @ Pike HS). Like Divisionals, this is a championship meet with qualifying times in place. A meet schedule and order of events document has been loaded to the meet page on the WTSC website and additional information will be provided as we get closer to the date. Please speak with Coach Josh if you have questions about this event.

Age Group State – Following Senior State is Age Group State (March 17-19 @ IUPUI Natatorium). Age group state is the 14&Under state championship meet and like Divisionals and Senior State, qualifying times are in place. A meet schedule and order of events document has been loaded to the meet page on the WTSC website and additional information will be provided as we get closer to the date. Please speak with Coach Todd or your group coach if you have questions about this event.
