Age Group State Recap – It was an outstanding weekend for our age group team as our swimmers cashed in months of hard work at Age Group State. WTSC finished in 25th place overall highlighted by several breakthrough swims and high places. Swimming in their final Age Group State meets, Sarah McPherson and Kayley Spicer both earned their first career Speedo Sectional cuts in the 100 Breaststroke (eighth place overall) and 100 & 200 Breaststroke, respectively. All three swims were also Zone cuts – the first Zone cuts of Kayley’s career – and Sarah added Zone cuts in the 50 and 100 Freestyle. Congratulations to Annie Wolfe who made the first Zone cut of her career in the 50 Backstroke and her first Age Group State podium finish in the 100 Backstroke. And Elaina Spicer picked up a pair of 11-year-old Zone cuts in the 50 & 100 Freestyle. Swimming in his first Age Group State meet, Amos Groothuis brought home podium hardware in the 50 & 100 Freestyle, where he finished fifth and eighth, respectively. Annie and Elaina teamed with Hadasa Garcia-Esquivel and Leah Kiefer to finish 10th in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Kayley and Sarah teamed with Carlise Leppert and Lillian Tabor to finish 13th in the 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relays. Sebastian Granados had a top finish of 24th in the 100 Breaststroke and teamed with Jack Campbell, Kellen Ford and Axel Garcia-Esquivel for 25th place in the 200 Medley Relay. Speedo Sectionals – Our final meet of the season is this weekend, as our swimmers take on a deep and talented field of swimmers at Speedo Sectionals (March 23-26 @ IUPUI Natatorium). This long course championship meet will feature swimmers from across the country looking to punch their tickets to the 2024 Olympic Trials. We are excited to see our WTSC swimmers test their mettle against some elite competition. Meet information has been communicated to all participating families but if you would like to follow the action you can visit the meet website (click HERE) for all sorts of meet information including a link to the live webcast. Good luck WTSC!

Pool Party – We are looking forward to celebrating the end of an outstanding season with our team pool party tonight, Tuesday, March 21, from 5:30-7:30pm. All WTSC swimmers, siblings and family members who are water safe are welcome to attend and bring their rafts and floats for some fun. Light snacks will be provided but feel free to bring something to share.

Thank You – Thank you to everyone who donated non-perishable food items to our food drive. The Silver Group enjoyed their ice cream party last night after winning our friendly competition by bringing in 106 individual non-perishable food items (Gold was runner-up with 96). All donated items were given to the First Baptist Church of Indianapolis food pantry. We are so happy to be able to give back to our community due to your generosity.
