Avon Community Swim Team COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

       Self-Screening for COVID symptoms at arrival; anyone with symptoms referred to provider and not allowed to participate

       Swimmers ARE NOT to share clothing, shoes, towels, water bottles or equipment

       Proper cleaning of any equipment per guidelines

       Swimmers expected to shower at home after activity, wash clothing immediately

       Coaches will utilize clinical judgement for treatment of athletes

       Social distancing during activities while inside, work in smaller groups, and wear masks when not participating in vigorous activity. 

       Modified sportsmanship to avoid contact including handshakes, high fives, and chest bumps etc…

 

What do I do if I have symptoms?

       DO NOT PANIC! Many viral illnesses present the same and most of these illnesses do not require hospitalization and resolve on their own

       Call your healthcare provider or visit an Immediate Care Center

o   Communicate important details, including any exposure to a person with confirmed COVID-19 illness or high risk interactions

       If your illness warrants COVID testing

o   Visit one of Indiana’s over 200 testing centers, check ISDH website

       Notify the your coach so appropriate measures can be taken in the club

 

What do I do if I was exposed to COVID but do not have symptoms?

       Contact your coach for further instructions and so appropriate measures can be taken in the club

o   If you are deemed a close-contact exposure

*       Quarantine for 14 days after exposure

*       Monitor for symptoms for 14 days after exposure

*       You may elect to get COVID-19 testing but need to wait 7 days from exposure

o   If you are deemed a low-risk exposure

*       Monitor for symptoms for 14 days after exposure

*       You may return to work immediately, but will be required to wear a mask at all times

       If you are notified of a student exposure or positive case, notify the School Safety Coordinator immediately for appropriate next steps

 

Return to Practice After Exclusion

       Swimmers must meet recommendations of the CDC to return to practice

       Tested Positive, Symptomatic

  • Fever free for 72 hours without the use of medications that reduce or prevent a fever
  • Symptoms have improved and it has been least 10 calendar days from onset

 OR

  • Two negative PCR tests at least 24 hours apart OR positive IgG antibody for COVID 19

       Tested Positive, Asymptomatic

o   At least 10 days without symptoms

o   Released in writing from a healthcare provider

       Tested Negative

o   Fever free for 72 hours without the use of medications that reduce or prevent a fever

       Untested

o   Fever free for 72 hours without the use of medications that reduce or prevent a fever

o   Symptoms have improved and it has been at least 10 calendar days from onset
