While at Auburn he was a 6 time All-American and a member of the 1999 National Championship team.  He was also a member of an SEC championship and record setting 400 Medley relay team.  His swimming career culminated when he competed in the 2000 Olympic Trials back home in Indianapolis.

In his tenure as a coach of ACST he has shown that he is committed to both ACST and Indiana Swimming. He has become ASCA level 2 certified, and attends many professional conferences and seminars. Coach Karr has also represented ACST as both an assistant and a head coach at Indiana Swimming sponsored camps. He has also been a member of the Indiana Zone Team’s coaching staff. He has also been honored by his peers by being selected 2010 Indiana Swimming Age Group Coach of the Year and 2014 and 2016 Indiana High School Athletic Association Coach of the Year. During that span his Avon High School Teams finished as state runner-up in 2014 and 3rd place finishes in 2015 and 2016.

In his 13 years at Avon his athletes have consisted of several state champions, state record holders, national Top 16 finishes, 3 National Junior Team qualifiers, 1 Junior World Championship top 5 finish, and a national high school record holder.

Coach Karr would like to thank you for being a valued member of our team. He knows what it takes to be successful in this sport, and he is thrilled for the opportunity to share his knowledge and experience with the parents and athletes of ACST.

Griffin Edwards Head Age Group Coach
My swimming career started with ACST when I was 7 years old and I swam High School under Zach DeWitt and the Franklin Grizzly Cubs. During my High School and club career with Franklin Regional Swim Team and Franklin Community High School I grew as a leader and a teammate. I received the team leadership award 2x as a Junior and Senior and was the leader of the State runner up teams we had during the 2017-2018 season and the 2018-2019 season. My accomplishments consist of the 2x leadership award, 2x state runner-up on the boys side, Junior National Qualifier in the 200 Fly and 400 Medley Relay, Top 8 in the 800 Free relay at futures, State Champ in the 800 Free relay and a top 16 qualifier in 4 different events at the High School state meet as well as top 8 finishes in the 200 medley relay and 400 Free relay.
My Future aspirations for the Club and a goals of mine include, growing the club to become a consistent top 5 Age Group Program and to grow and develop each swimmer in every aspect of life not just swimming. Developing and forming great kids and people is something I strive for on a consistent basis and giving them common knowledge on nutrition, stretching and recovering properly to further their goals and aspirations they may have.
A future goal of mine is to be a Head Coach of a club or coach on the collegiate level of swimming.
Some things I like to do in my free time is further grow my knowledge on the base of swimming by watching podcasts or reading articles. I also love to spend time with my family and play with my German Shepherd and hangout with friends. Also I love to pick on Coach Karr. :)
