Boilermaker Aquatics is thrilled to be hosting our annual Early Bird Invitational meet from May 19-21, 2023 at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center on the campus of Purdue University.
Concessions
Boilermaker Aquatics will offer light concessions (drinks and snacks) at the entrance to the aquatic center. Payment is by card only. NO CASH.
For food options in the West Lafayette/Lafayette area please see https://www.homeofpurdue.com/restaurants/. Options on Purdue’s campus may be closed while classes are not in session.
Parking
Friday Afternoon, all visitors should be careful about parking in restricted areas. After 5:00 PM on Friday, most lots will become available and free throughout the remainder of the weekend. All paved and gravel areas are signed/posted for permit parking so visitors may not park in A, B, or C spaces unless a parking permit has been purchased and displayed. Please see the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center Parking map for more details.

Athlete Age & Time Standard Requirement
Swimmers must be at least 13 years of age as of May 19, 2023. 2021-2024 National Motivational “BB” Time Standards will be used for all swimmers with athletes 19 or older being held to the 17-18-year-old qualifying standard. Boilermaker Aquatics reserves the right to swim any of its own club members who have not achieved the minimum time standards.

Warm-up Lane Assignments
Lane assignments will be made for all participants, and they will be posted at both ends of the competition course. There will be no diving during general warm-up. Feet first entry only. When doing racing starts, swimmers will start from starting end only. Swim one way. Walk back.
Warm-up times:
Warm-ups length varies by session
Friday - 3:30-4:20 (50 minutes)
Saturday prelims - 7:00-8:20 (80 minutes)
Saturday finals - 4:00-4:50 (50 minutes)
Sunday prelims - 7:00-8:20 (80 minutes)
Sunday finals - 3:00-3:50 (50 minutes)

Hotel Reservations
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hampton Inn & Suites, West Lafayette until April 20, 2022 at a rate of $199/night. Call 765-269-8000 and reference Boilermaker Aquatics (Group Code: BAQ) or visit https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/lafwehx-hampton-suites-west-lafayette/ and click on the dates to change those to the arrival and departure dates that you need. Then click on special rates and enter "BAQ" where it says "group code" and then click on close. Lastly, click on "Check Rooms & Rates". With the number of athletes participating in the meet this weekend, we have provided warm-up lane assignments (link above) to keep warm-up flowing and running smoothly. Coaches will collaborate for an appropriate time for starts/sprints with any other teams that are sharing lanes, and the diving well will be open throughout the meet for warm-up/warm-down.
