Here are some things we did well

  1. Positive Mental Attitude---Sometimes it can be tough to step up and go best times only two weeks after your last meet. BSC Teammates were amazing this past weekend and the difference was staying Positive. Have the attitude that one is just going to step up and send it each swim. More often than not just that one simple choice makes all the difference.

  2. Cheer for Your Teammates—I love, love, love it when teammates cheer for each other. It shows that you really care about each other and want teammates to do well. Coaches really noticed that this past weekend. Keep it Up!

Here are some things we need to work on

  1. Parents—Do Not Coach Your Swimmer. BSC has a long term developmental plan for each athlete. This includes training, technique and tactics related to every stroke and every race. BSC Coaches use common language with our swimmers, so as they progress through the program they can add to their knowledge base from group to group. Please moms and dads we know you mean well, but let the coaches do their jobs please.

  2. Team Attire—We are all members of Barrington Swim Club and all teammates should be properly attired at meets. That means Team Suits and Team Caps at all times. The only exception is for 13 and Older swimmers and their Tech Suits.

  3. Watch Your Races---If you go to the Barrington Swim Club YouTube you can re-watch your races and make mental notes of what you need to be working on in practice. If you have any question all you need to do is ask your coach about it.
