The Tigers made sure that March roared in like a tiger with their performance at the Sunday Splash on March 1st. This meet is the last chance to achieve a Divisional cut and that added pressure seemed to fuel the 66 athletes who competed. In fact, these Tigers roared to 84 new lifetime best swims! Our FAST Tigers went in to the February FAST Friday Races on February 21st looking to add new cuts and establish new best times as the season is coming to an end and the Tigers did not disappoint! Coming off of two great meets during the month of January, a small but mighty group of 54 Tigers attacked the JAGS Zero Waste Invitational which was held this year from February 7-9, 2020. The Tigers worked as a team and swam hard ending up in 3rd place out of 29 teams! In fact, the two teams that finished ahead of the Tigers had 2 and 3x the number of athletes as FAST did. On January 4th and 5th seven FAST Tigers suited up for Team Indiana in the annual Mid-States Championships at the IU Natatorium. This meet features all-star teams from Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and the Wisconsin LSCs along with Team Indiana. Swimmers are selected to compete for Team Indiana through a selection process evaluating all age group swimmers who have applied and who have at least a "AA" cut in an event. On December 20, the FAST Tigers and Southeastern Swim Club met in an exciting Age Group Dual Meet. Competition was fierce, the racing intense, the atmosphere rocking, and the athletes' efforts outstanding. At the 2019 Mudsock Dual Meet, FAST athletes earned another 59 lifetime best swims. And, to top it off, FAST WON the dual meet - by a score of 1487.50 - 1303.50 points! Every athlete mattered; every swim mattered. FAST won as a team. Great job, Tigers! Your FAST Tigers were outstanding as they competed on the national stage at the 2019 East Speedo Winter Junior Championships in Atlanta, Georgia from December 11-14, 2019. Five FAST athletes traveled to Georgia to represent our program – and represent they did!
