In an effort to identify the state's top swimmers in long events and create "Pride" in IM and Distance Swimming, Indiana Swimming held its 2018-2019 Winter "Virtual" Distance and IM Challenge from December 14, 2018 through January 7, 2019. Any swimmer who swam the 1650 Free, 1000 Free, and 400 IM could submit times to be ranked in the Virtual Distance Challenge.

FAST decided to challenge our athletes and the Tiger Pride, Tigers 2, Tigers 1, and Tiger Stripes athletes completed their swims on January 3. While many swimmers had personal bests during the challenge, most of the Tigers 1 and many Tigers 2 swam these events for the very first time and great efforts were seen across the pool.

Indiana Swimming  then ranked all entries received by Single Age and Gender to determine the overall winners of each race (1650 Free, 1000 Free, and 400 IM). FAST athletes  had 6 of the state's top times, including:

  • Emma Schumacher (11) - 1650 Free
  • JoJo Ramey (13) -400 IM
  • Kate Mouser (14) - 400 IM
  • Jessica Patrick (14) - 1650 Free
  • Connor Carlile (13) - 1000 Free and 1650 Free

Full results can be found on the Indiana Swimming website. Congratulations to all who rose to the challenge!
