FAST Ladies WIN the Senior State Championship; the Combined Team Finishes 2nd!

FAST athletes competed at the 2019 Indiana Senior State Championships on March 17-19, 2019. Racing at the Pike High School Natatorium, your Tigers showed up to race as the ladies emerged victorious, the men finished 3rd, and the combined team took 2nd place at the Senior State Championship!  Ready to race from the first heat, your FAST athletes fought for every second, competed well, and came together as a team! The work your athletes have put into the water this season was certainly evident as 110 new lifetime best swims were earned.

Earning lifetime bests at the Senior State Championship were: Brooke Atkins (7), Logan Ayres (2), Reed Beaumont (2), Dan Bennett (1), Morgan Booth (2), Jackson Carlile (7), Simon Davies (8), Sean Deimling (1), Ellen Fero (4), Aaron Frollo (4), Alex Garcia (3), Izzy Harding (5), Louie Henderson (1), Samantha Hietpas (2), Cory Jacocks (2), Abby Jahns (1), Emma Julien (1), Kristopher Keller (2), Savannah Kennedy (6), Bruno Kitazuka (3), Diane Koo (2), Abby Miller (3), Emily Pfeifer (1), Kenzie Pierce (3), Ryleigh Poe (3), Kyle Ponsler (8), Charlie Ramey (3), Lydia Reade (4), Kara Robeson (4), Nicole Rueff (3), Tyler Schwertfeger (1), Nic Silva (7), Alexandra Stein (1), Kylie Terpening (2), and Corinne Yorkman (1).

Special congratulations go out to the following swimmers for their podium finishes (Top 10) at the Senior State Meet, including: Brooke Atkins (200 Back – 9th, 200 IM – 4th), Morgan Booth (500 Free – 4th, 1000 Free – 3rd, 1650 Free – 4th), Jackson Carlile (200 Free – 5th, 1000 Free – 1st, 200 Back – 10th, 200 IM – 9th), Simon Davies (400 IM – 10th, 200 Back – 9th), Aaron Frollo (1000 Free – 2nd, 400 IM – 8th), Samantha Hietpas (500 Free – 10th, 1000 Free – 4th, 1650 Free – 3rd), Abby Jahns (1000 Free – 7th, 1650 Free – 6th), Savannah Kennedy (200 IM – 7th, 400 IM – 8th), Kate Mouser (200 Breast – 10th), Kyle Ponsler (1650 Free – 2nd), Hannah Pratt (500 Free – 6th), Lydia Reade (1650 Free – 8th, 200 IM – 6th), Nicole Rueff (200 Fly – 8th), Kylie Terpening (1000 Free – 8th), and Corinne Yorkman (400 IM – 7th, 500 Free – 10th). FAST athletes also had multiple podium finishes with our relays. Top 8 relay teams included the 5th place Women’s 200 Medley Relay (Brooke Atkins, Lydia Reade, Kara Robeson, and Hannah Pratt), the 8th place Women’s 400 Medley Relay (Brooke Atkins, Kenzie Pierce, Nicole Rueff, and Alexandra Stein), the 9th place Women’s 400 Medley Relay (Corinne Yorkman, Lydia Reade, Kara Robeson, and Kate Mouser), the 8th place Women’s 200 Free Relay (Ellen Fero, Alexandra Stein, Kalli Agapios, and Emma Julien), the 10th place Women’s 800 Free Relay (Morgan Booth, Abby Jahns, Hannah Pratt, and Nicole Rueff), and the 9th place Men’s 800 Free Relay (Aaron Frollo, Kyle Ponsler, Tyler Schwertfeger, and Jackson Carlile).

It was indeed a great weekend of racing and we are excited to see what our senior athletes do when they race at Speedo Sectionals. We look forward to seeing what the future holds as they reach their goals… and set new ones!
