Did you know that a group of Alligators is called a congregation? Boy did we have a large congregation of Gators at the CGAC Jingle Bell Classic! This was a very big and competitive meet, with several top teams from around the state, as well as outside of Indiana. While for many Gators this was their first meet, our athletes showed up in full force, continuing to show off their growing skills, and bringing home a bunch of jingle bells for their efforts! The Greenwood Gators have begun a new season! Our swimmers have been back in the water for a few weeks as we kick off our Fall/Winter Short Course Yards season. The practice and meet schedules are posted on the Gator Calendar, and we are only 5 weeks our from our first meet of the season. What a season its been! The Gators wrapped up the Long Course Championship season with a pair of meets the last 2 weeks. The Gators have been on a hot streak as we roll through Championship Season! Two weekends ago, Naomi Weaver swam 4 events, 100 Back, 200 Back, 100 Fly, and 200 IM, at the Indiana Long Course Senior State Championships. This is an exceptionally fast meet featuring not only the best high school swimmers Indiana has to offer, but also many returning college swimmers that call Indiana home. Oh my, what a summer season we’re having! The Gators have continued their strong summer performances through a few new meets these past couple of weeks. First, we wrapped up our Development Summer Dual Meet Series with the Championship Meet between Gators, Plainfield, Avon, and Brownsburg at Plainfield HS. The Gators have once again been busy the past few weeks. We hosted 2 dual meets in our Summer Dual Meet Series, with both Avon and Brownsburg paying a visit to the Swamp. The Gators had an action packed weekend. First, we held our developmental IntraSwamp meeting Thursday. Our younger swimmers did not disappoint as they tore up the pool! This was an unofficial meet, but served as a great practice meet for our upcoming Dual Meet Series the remainder of the summer.
