CIA Earns Silver Medal Club Status

Jason Kemp

USA Swimming recently came out with the list of 2021 Gold/ Silver/ Bronze Medal Clubs and CIA has earned Silver Medal status for the second year in a row! The Club Excellence Program is a voluntary program that identifies and recognizes USA Swimming clubs for their commitment to performance excellence.

This program strives to meet the following objectives:

  • Promote the development of strong, well-rounded age group and senior swimming programs that produce elite 18 & under athletes;
  • Provide recognition and resources to motivate and assist member clubs to strive for the highest ideals of athlete performance.
  • The program provides grant funding and recognizes the club development system as integral to achieving excellence in the sport.

In a year that has been very challenging for the entire swimming community and our swim club specifically it’s important to focus on the positives. Swimming is a wonderful lifelong sport and our club will continue working to accomplish our vision: To achieve consistent dominance in Iowa Swimming with a culture of loyalty, respect, integrity, and fun. CIA will be recognized by the community as a good citizen, and THE PLACE for competitive swimming. CIA will be viewed as a club which consistently produces athletes who continue swimming in college. CIA will continue to develop a culture that results in durable team pride, based on our core values.

As your family celebrates this Thanksgiving, we hope you are safe, healthy and enjoy the time. I’m personally thankful for all the wonderful coaches, volunteers, families and swimmers that work hard and have fun.
