Hello Mustangs!!

I hope you all had a great weekend and are looking forward to another week! We are continuing to work with MHS to figure out the best plan for starting our season. The return to practice plan has been submitted and will be reviewed by the admin. We will make changes as necessary, and share it with everyone once it’s finalized. We will keep everybody posted as we work through this.

***There is no Illinois Swimming Zoom with an Olympian this Tuesday 6/16.***

Illinois Swimming Chat with an Olympic COACH

June 9, 2020

We (Illinois Swimming) are excited to host a weekly Q&A with former Illinois Swimming athletes as we discuss their passion for the sport, their roadblocks, successes, and more. This zoom meeting is open to ALL ILLINOIS SWIMMING MEMBERS to join.

This week's guest will be Olympic and NCAA Championship Head Coach David Marsh. Coach Marsh won a record 12 NCAA titles (Men & Women) at Auburn University and is the current Head Coach of Team Elite. Coach Marsh was the Women's Head Coach for Team USA in Rio. Be sure to join us at 6:00pm central as we chat with Coach Marsh.

Team Elite athletes would like to give back to the swimming community by offering a mentorship program for younger swimmers. Under the guidance of head coach David Marsh and assistant coach Javier Sossa, we have developed this program based on our experiences and what we wish we would have known as an age-grouper. Each applicant will be matched with a mentor based on his/her particular needs and interests. The young athletes will not only develop a friendship with the mentor, but gain knowledge in a wide array of subjects that are essential to succeed in our sport as well as learn life-long skills. More Information can be found here.

The zoom link was emailed out Saturday by Illinois Swimming and can also be found here.
