Steven Thompson High Performance | Gold, Silver (Tipton)

As the Tipton Community Schools Aquatics Director, Steven began coaching for Power Aquatics Swim Club in 2012, returning the club to its original founding location after an extended absence. As a graduate of Ball State University’s Aquatics Degree Program, having earned a B.S. in Exercise Science, Aquatics with two minors: Aquatic Administration and Teaching Aquatics, Steven has expanded the comprehensive inclusivity and exposure of aquatic sports, safety, and recreation to the Tipton and surrounding communities for over a decade. 

Having begun his coaching career in 2008 with the sport of competitive diving, Steven grew into the roles of Assistant and then Head Coach of Tipton High School & Tipton Middle School. Within several year and as a result of Power Aquatics Swim Club, Tipton's competitive swimming and diving program has continued to grow and improve, producing a Hoosier Conference Championship, MIC Championship, multiple individual conference champions, numerous school record performances, regional, and state qualifiers. Coach Thompson was awarded the National Swimming Pool Foundation Scholarship (2010), Carmel Boys Sectional Coach of the Year (2018, 2020) Carmel/Noblesville Boys & Girls Sectional Coach of the Year (2021)

As an active community member, Steven was selected to represent Tipton County as one of seventeen torchbearers during the Indiana Bicentennial Celebrations. Steven also serves as a Tipton Municipal Utilities Service Board Member and as the Tipton City Pool Aquatics Director/Pool Manager, previously having served on the City of Tipton Park Advisory Board and Tipton Main Street Association.

Alex Redd Silver

Alex Redd is a 2017 graduate of Tipton High School. As a former Power Aquatics swimmer, Alex was an instrumental part resusitating the competitive swim programs of the Tipton area. He swam competitively for Power Aquatics Swim Club for 13 years. Alex has been coaching with Power Aquatics since 2017. In 2022, as part of Power Aquatics' Kokomo expansion,  Alex assumed the Silver/Gold coaching positions at the Kokomo location. Alex continues working hard to help athletes excel and enjoy the sport of swimming - one of his top priorities being, making sure everyone works hard but has fun at the same time. In his free time, Alex enjoys traveling, playing chess, working out, and stay active!

Brittney McLearran Bronze

Brittney is a 2009 graduate of Tipton High School and a 2015 graduate of IUK with a Sociology degree. She started swimming when she was five years old. She swam with various swim clubs throughout her athletic career. Brittney was an introductory member of Power Aquatics when it was founded in 2003. Brittney a member of the Tipton Middle School and Tipton High School Swimming & Diving teams. Brittney began her coaching career in 2012 as the Tipton Middle School Assistant Swimming Coach. Brittney has expanded her coaching porfolio to also include Tipton High School - helping to lead both programs to winning records and mutliple championship qualifications. Brittney became the Bronze coach the summer of 2013. Brittney anticipates many of her Bronze-level swimmers excelling in the sport of swimming and enjoying the lifelong learning benefits associated with it.

Noah Bogard Strength & Conditioning Coach

Noah is a 2016 graduate of Tipton High School. He is a former swimmer of Power Aquatics as well as the Tipton Swimming and Diving program. He swam competitively for 15 years, continuing his career at Purdue University on their collegiate club swimming team. While at Purdue University, he studied kinesiology and earned his B.S. in 2020. Noah has coached in the past for the Tipton High School swim team as a volunteer assistant and currently works as a Personal Trainer at Anytime Fitness in Tipton. Noah understands the importance of having a strong strength training foundation for swimming and focuses around performing in a safe and effective manner.

Natalie Thompson Power Aquatic Swim School (PASS) Manager

Natalie is the Manager/Coordinator of the PASS Swim Lesson Program. She is a former educator of students with special needs, retiring after 43 rewarding years. Natalie enjoys watching the interaction between the participants and the instructors. She especially likes seeing the awesome improvements participants make during the three week sessions.

Brent Lord Account Management/Billing

Brent is a level 2 ASCA coach.  He has been involved with the sport of swimming in the Hamilton Heights community for over 30 years and is one of the founders of Power Aquatics. Since 2004, Brent has served the club wherever he is needed from coaching to administration.  He holds a strong belief that one should give "all they have" at any endeavor they undertake in life whether that be a job, sport, family or friends.  As Head Coach, he strives to motivate kids to excel in the sport of swimming. He believes that every child is different and will progress in the sport of swimming at their own unique pace.  

Brent has lived in Cicero with his wife Jane for the last 40 years.  They have 2 children and 5 grandchildren.  His favorite pastime is taking care of his grandchildren during the days and coaching occasional distance free training.
