Becoming an Official

Did you know it takes about 8-10 volunteer officials to successfully run a swim meet?!

We are always looking for SSC volunteers to join our Officials volunteer team and continue to grow the excellent reputation of SSC, our meets, and our officials.

Our sport needs certified officials to ensure fairness and to make sure meets run efficiently. It is also an excellent opportunity to learn the sport, be on deck with your athlete and fulfill your SSC volunteer hours!

Full training and mentoring are provided throughout your Official career and the only commitment is to complete your volunteer hours during the year.

If you are interested or would like to learn more about becoming an official please contact Steve Paton at [email protected].

Official Information and Training Clinics

Official clinics are generally held prior to the first Super Splash of each season. Please watch for further details in your emails from the club.

Officials are volunteers. You may fulfill your volunteer obligations by officiating at any of our hosted meets throughout the season. Unfortunately, volunteering at a Super Splash will not fulfill your volunteer obligations; however, it is an excellent time to fulfill the shadowing sessions that you are required to do in order to complete your Officials training.

If have other questions about Officiating, contact Steve Paton at [email protected].
