Board of Directors

Southeastern Swim Club is managed by a Board of Directors, volunteers responsible for guiding the future of our Club. They work closely with the coaching staff, school administration, and other parents to maintain our Club's structure and to provide a safe environment for our athletes.

Andy Pedersen
Head Coach

I have been the Head Coach of SSC since 1994. I am also the head coach of the HSE Boys and Girls High School Swim teams. My family and I reside in the Fishers community and SSC is a great part of our lives.

Dan Johnson
Co-Founder & Treasurer

I have served on the SSC board since the club was founded in 1989 and have held various positions throughout the years. My wife Kaylee and I have two children, Luke and Kenli. I can often be found on deck coaching various groups as I always want to give anything I can to the next generation of SSC swimmers.

Brian Kertin
President & SafeSport Coordinator

My family has been a part of Southeastern Swim Club since 2009, and my daughter Katelyn is a member of the Seniors practice group. I am currently a member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of the club. I believe that the Board has done a good job of shepherding the talent that we have among our members and directing the overall operations of the club. I appreciate SSC's athlete development philosophy; the genuine interest that the Coaches have in the ongoing development of SSC as a great club; and the active participation of parents in supporting our swimmers and hosting well-run meets. All of us value the friendships that we have developed with the SSC family over the years. I am hoping to receive your vote to be re-elected to the Board of Directors, and continue to move the club forward.

Steve Herman
Vice President

My family has been a part of Southeastern Swim Club since 2014. My wife Jenny and I have two daughters. Elise (14) is in the Senior group and Annie (11) is a Sea Dog. During swim meets and Super Splashes, I am most likely volunteering at head table where I work as an Admin Official. I think our club runs the smoothest meets and I'm proud to be a part of helping make that happen.

Away from the pool, I teach physics at Hamilton Southeastern High School.

Because of the friendships we've developed during our time with the club we consider SSC to be an extension of our family. The coaches and parents have had a major impact on the social and athletic development of our girls. I enjoy being a part of helping our club grow so that it can have the same positive impact on other families as it has had on ours.

Judy Howser

The Howsers joined SSC in August of 2012. Our girls started in Flying Fish and have progressed through Stingrays, Sharks, Dolphins, Blue Runners, Barracudas and Intermediates, Juniors, and Seniors. Abi and Ami are both now Seniors.

Jerry and I began our volunteering for SSC as Stroke and Turn Officials. After two years, I became a Starter and am now a Referee. Outside the pool I am an Audiologist providing hearing testing and hearing aids for our Veterans at my offices in Michigan, Missouri and here in Fishers.

SSC has been an integral part in the growth of my girls and our family. We’ve formed lasting friendships and relationships we cherish. We love being on deck getting to know other parents, swimmers, coaches and visiting clubs.

Matt Stolle

The Stolle Family joined SSC in 2011 and currently has two swimmers in the club. Anna swims with the Senior Group and my wife, Chrissy, swims with the Masters Program. Much of my volunteer involvement for the club comes as a USA Swimming Official. Whether serving as a Meet Referee or helping out with a Super Splash, I’m most often found on deck.

When not on a pool deck, I’m working as a Senior Financial Advisor & Vice President with Merrill Lynch. I’ve been a competitive cyclist since age 14 and still enjoy the competition and advocacy within the sport. I currently sit on several non-profit boards including the Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation and the Rollfast Foundation.

It has been fun to watch our swimmers learn life skills and grow through the Southeastern Swim Club. I’m proud that our Club offers development programs for swimmers of all different skill levels.  There is always a plan and path that our coaches have to help the swimmer’s reach their goals.  I’m excited to watch SSC’s continued growth and looking forward to contributing new ideas to benefit both the swimmers and their families.

Janet Walker

The Walker family joined SSC in August 2016. My husband Ryan and I have two children, Payton and Colt. Payton swims in the Sea Dogs group. At swim meets you can find me on deck being a meet chair for various volunteer positions and cheering on SSC swimmers. I believe our board has done a tremendous job of guiding the club in the right direction and our amazing coaching staff works extremely hard at helping all athletes at various skill levels to reach their full potential.

Southeastern Swim Club has allowed our daughter and our entire family to form friendships that will last a lifetime. We really enjoy getting to know everyone and share this amazing experience together with other swim families. We love the camaraderie of SSC, it is like a big family and we are blessed to be a part of it.

I teach Discovery at Thorpe Creek Elementary. I have been a part of education for several years and I love working with children and seeing their growth and development throughout the years.
