Sea Dogs Weekly News

Week 6 (May 18 - 24)

This Week

This is the final week of our second three-week dryland cycle. Thanks to all of our athletes who have been working so hard over the past two months - I truly believe those who have approached dryland with enthusiasm and consistency will be stronger and more resilient as a result.

Hang in there! We are actively working towards a plan to begin offering swim practices in the near future. I am hoping the coaching staff will be able to share these detailed plans by the end of the week.

We have been reviewing a comprehensive safety plan for handling practices, which will force us all to make changes. There is so much to consider as we do everything we can to create a safe practice environment for our athletes, so we will take it one step at a time to make sure we are avoiding risk to the best of our ability. Thank you for your patience as we finalize this information and communicate it to everyone!

I will continue to provide at-home dryland workouts for the foreseeable future, regardless of what happens with water time - much more information to come and I appreciate your patience as we work on finalizing our plans for the summer.

  1. Build good habits: create a routine and excel at it
  2. Control the controllable: focus only on things you have the power to impact now
  3. Focus on the positive: be mindful of the positive aspects of your life

Thursday's discussion topics:

  1. What swimming habit do you plan to focus on building when we return to practice?
  2. What do you want to be when you grow up - and why?

Last week, the Sea Dogs did a great job coming up with questions to ask me - so this week, I'd like everyone to be ready with at least one question for Coach Ben!
