Week 13 (November 29 - December 5)

This Week

As we navigate past the WTSC meet and Thanksgiving weekend, we enter one of the most crucial stretches of our season - over the next seven weeks we will undergo some of our most challenging practices of the year. This is a great time to reassess goals, both process-focused and results-focused. What do you need to focus on to get better? If you can't answer that question, come to me for help!

I am so proud of everything this group has accomplished so far, and we have grown so much in our practice environment. I see young athletes growing as leaders, building better habits, and learning to help each other get better each day. Come to practice with complete focus on getting better - and have fun doing it!

CGAC Meet - Next Weekend

If you plan on attending, please register by today - the signup closes at midnight. If you have any issues accessing the registration, email me and I will take care of it for you.

Registration and meet info can be found here. All athletes will compete in the same session, running two pools. Warmups are at 8:30 and the meet starts at 9:30. ITD is 8:15, and please arrive with athletic shoes. We will usually do some form of dryland / dynamic warmup, so please come prepared.

Order of events is also listed on the website. Once we have the entry file from the host team, we will select events at practice. This meet is less about our times and more about our process - what have you worked on in practice since the WTSC meet that you hope to show improvement on next weekend?

Winter Training Schedule

Our tentative practice time over Winter Break will be 9-11 am each day. December schedule is updated (see Group Calendar link above with the weekly schedule). We also have the Mile Trial planned (our heats planned during our practice time) on Wednesday the 29th. Participation is strongly encouraged, it's always a great team bonding event and we will be using our times for a few activities/challenges in practice so you don't want to miss out!

Positive-Impact Parenting Event

Click here to register for the first in a series of family education nights put on by our club. This is scheduled for December 8 from 6-7 pm.

The purpose of this night is to help coaches and parents form that partnership and work towards the end goal for each athlete: improved life skills and increased athletic potential. Please RSVP in order to give us an idea of how big a room we will need to reserve!
