Race Aquatics Swim Lessons have been resumed on a limited basis. Please see the Spring Lessons 2021 tab under "Lessons" for more information. If you have any questions, please contact Lauren Miller at [email protected]org for more information.

The following information is for our "typical" swim lesson schedule. These guidelines do not apply to our current circumstances amidst the COVID pandemic. We are currently working to solidify a schedule for the remainder of our Fall lessons. For more information on whether your child would qualify to participate in lessons, please see guidelines on our "Group Lessons 2020" page.

Option 1: Group Lessons

Group lessons are for children ages 3+ looking to become more comfortable in the water or to join the swim team. These lessons are offered Monday-Thursday evenings between 4:30-6:30 and are 30 minutes long. Our sessions are often multiple weeks long and you have the option of choosing either Monday/Wednesday lessons or Tuesday/Thursday lessons. The focus of these lessons is proficiency in kicking on the stomach with a kickboard, floating and kicking on the back, swimming the freestyle with the face in the water, and swimming the backstroke.

Standard Class times for Fall/Winter/Spring:

   A: 4:30-5

   B: 5-5:30

   C: 5:30-6

   D: 6-6:30

Ability Levels:

Beginner: the child is new to the water and needs hands on assistance at all times

Intermediate: the child can jump into the water and swim back to the wall, or to an instructor, without assistance

Advanced: the child knows how to perform a basic freestyle or backstroke without assistance

***if we determine that your child belongs in a different group after the session has begun, you may be asked to switch lesson times

How to add your child's name to the roster:

There is NO ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR LESSONS.  You will need to email [email protected] with the following information:

  • Child's name
  • Age
  • Ability level
  • Preferred times (please provide at least 2)
  • Sessions you would like to register for

Please see "Group Lessons 2020" Tab for more information on group lesson sessions, time options, and pricing.

Option 2: Private Lessons (limited availability)

Our private lesson option is available year-round. Private lessons are available to individuals of all ages, including adults. These lessons are scheduled based on yours and the instructor’s availability and can be determined on a week-by-week basis. Our facility is open in the evenings between 3:30-7pm, so all lessons must be done during this time period (hours may change during the summer months); however, private lessons must also be scheduled around our group classes which are from 4:30-6:30. All lessons are 30 minutes long.

Pricing Information:

     $30 single lesson/one child

     $80 three lessons/one child

     $35 single lesson/two children

     $90 three lessons/two children

The purpose of private lessons:

  • An opportunity for your child to get started in the water before they meet the minimum age requirement for group lessons (3 years old)
  • For your child to receive extra technique work
  • To learn the butterfly and breaststroke which are not taught during group lessons
  • For those families that cannot commit to the group lesson schedule
  • For adults looking to become more comfortable in the water
