At the Cleveland Swim Institute, training groups are created to maximize specificity of training. Our staff also strongly believes that the social aspect of this sport contributes to long term success just as much as proper skill acquisition. For this reason swimmers will be kept with swimmers in their same grade or age group.
Commitment: "The act of being dedicated to a cause or activity"
To be committed is clearly a relative term; being committed has different meanings for different people and different situations. The CSI coaching staff understands that each of our athletes have different commitment levels to the Sport of Swimming. Our "commitment" is to make sure that your commitment level best matches your personal goals. Our purpose as coaches is to make sure we do everything possible to assist and empower each of you to achieve your unique goals; In order to do this , you (the athlete and parent) set the commitment standard and we (the coaching staff) make sure you follow through on your commitment. While we will assist, suggest and encourage you on your journey through the sport of swimming, it is important to note that YOU are in charge of your future and making sure that your goals and commitments are aligned.
Move up Policy: Our coaches will maintain an outlook of fluidity in regards to the placement of each swimmer. Each athlete will be evaluated and his/her individual needs will be taken into account throughout the year.
"Performance" Group: The Junior "Performance" group is an optional upgrade that includes Sports Performance services through CSI Athlete. These team-only dryland classes are scheduled before swim practices on Mon/Wed/Fri at 5pm. Swimmers may upgrade at any time to the Performance level or downgrade at any time to a Swim-Only level.
"Elite" Group: (Invitation only) CSI's Age Group "Elite" Team and National "Elite" Team is for athletes who have achieved specific time-standards and who have decided to pursue regional, national and even international USA Swimming competitions. The "Elite" Group has been designed specifically for those swimmers who are fully committed to maximizing their swimming potential.
