Levels:
- Cubs: Introduction to swim team. Swimmers will learn the basics about what it means to be on the swim team. They will gain confidence and experience swimming all four competition strokes by learning various drills.
- Requirements:
- Typically reserved for swimmers aged 8&Under
- Swimming Skills: Level 4 in lessons AND can swim one full length of freestyle with face in the water without stopping and one full length of backstroke completely on back without stopping
- Practice: Three 30-minute to 1-hour swim practices a week plus 1 dryland workout a week - we expect swimmers to attend most practices
- Meets: We encourage swimmers to attend at least 1 swim meet during the season
*We will have separate practice groups for 8U Cubs and 9-10 Cubs (older swimmers may also be placed in these groups, based on skill level)
- Bronze: Intermediate swim team level. Swimmers will develop stroke technique through various drills for each of the four competition strokes. They will also polish competition starts and turns for all four strokes.
- Requirements:
- Typically reserved for swimmers aged 9-12
- Swimming Skills: Can swim two full lengths of freestyle with face in the water without stopping and 2 full lengths of backstroke completely on back without stopping AND one full length of breaststroke and one full length of butterfly without stopping
- Practice: Four 1-1.25–hour practices a week plus 2 dryland workouts a week - we expect swimmers to attend at least 3 practices a week
- Meets: We expect swimmers to attend at least 3 swim meets during the season
- Silver: Advanced swim team level. Swimmers will refine their technique by doing various drills for each of the 4 competition strokes, as well as competition starts and turns. Swimmers will also improve endurance and speed through interval training and kick sets.
- Requirements:
- Typically reserved for swimmers aged 11&Up
- Swimming Skills: Can swim 4 full lengths of freestyle with face in the water without stopping AND 4 full lengths of backstroke completely on back without stopping AND 2 full lengths of breaststroke without stopping AND 2 full lengths of butterfly without stopping AND can do a competition dive and freestyle flip turn
- Practice: 5 1-1.5–hour practices a week plus 2 dryland workouts a week - we expect swimmers to attend all 5 practices each week
- Meets: We expect swimmers to attend at least 4 meets during the season
