HEAT presents various awards to recognize swimmers' accomplishments, both in and out of the pool.

Awards are either presented at the HEAT Awards ceremony, generally held at the end of the short course season, or as they are requested (in the case of the Patch awards).

To submit a request for a specific award, select the award type from the Awards Menu.

  • Swimmers can earn an IMX Cap PLUS one (1) prize based on their highest IMX score.  Should a swimmer age up during the current short course season, the swimmer's highest score will be used to receive their award.

Participation in the IMX is easy. USA Swimming automatically scores and calculates results for all athlete members!

Swimmers only need to sign up for a Deck Pass Account at www.usaswimming.org/deckpass then compete in each required event, at a sanctioned meet, at least once in a short course season.

There is no submission deadline. The IMX Score will be taken after the last Short Course meet on the HEAT schedule by the Coaches. Awards will be given out at the Spring Awards Assembly. This Award is for Short Course Season only.

In an effort to encourage and reward swimmers for their efforts to become outstanding, well-rounded swimmers, HEAT will present special awards for each time a swimmer advances to the next group level.

Level Up! Awards will be given to swimmers after successfully completing the requirements to get to the next group level.

Note: Swimmer adjustments within the first few weeks of the season do NOT constitute a group advancement.

There is no submission deadline. If a swimmer has met the requirements to advance group levels, they will receive their award at the HEAT Awards Ceremony. This award is only for group advancements during short course season.

To motivate swimmers to set goals and track their swimming progress.

These patches will be awarded to all age group swimmers who achieve the next highest time standard (B, BB, A, AA, AAA, AAAA) in each of the stroke categories (Free, Back, Breast, Fly and IM). Patches will only be awarded based on the NAG Age Group Time Standards. Patches will not be issued for Single Age Group Time Standards.

A swimmer will not receive patches for the various distances of a stroke (50 free, 100 free, 200 free, etc.). Swimmers earn a patch the first time the standard is met for each stroke, regardless of the distance.

Please note: Patches can only be earned one time per swimmer. For example, a swimmer earns a B time in the 50 free and also earns a B time in the 100 free. Only one free patch is awarded. The same swimmer ages up and earns a B time in the 50 free. A new patch will not be issued since they have already earned this patch.

Click here to see the USA swimming chart of current TIME STANDARDS.

The patch coordinators will review the information provided and place the patches earned in the swimmer’s mailbox within 1-2 weeks of submission.

Patch Request Forms should be submitted by selecting Awards/Patch Request from the menu above on a timely basis (preferably within 1-2 weeks of the meet in which the times are achieved, but will be accepted throughout the current swim season).

To motivate swimmers to excel scholastically, as well as athletically.
