Registration/Fees/Volunteer Commitment

Lakeshore Board

Hello Lakeshore Families,

Registration for returning families is officially open (use the registration button at the bottom of the main webpage).  For the short course season 2022/2023 which starts August 29th and lasts until approximately the middle of March, the fees will be as follows:

Senior 1 & 2        $550 (Includes the fall until high school season, mornings and Saturdays during high school season, and post high school until the end of short course.  Any additional training requirements in the evenings during high school season will be discussed and billed individually.)

                                Blue 2                   $800

                                Blue 1                    $750

                                Yellow 2               $725

                                Yellow 1               $700

                                White 2                 $650

                                White 1                $400

Note that due to the success of the fundraiser, we have not increased our fees from last year.

Families will have 2 options for payment.  The first is to pay in full at the beginning of the season.  The second for every group but senior is to break the payments into 5 installments that will be paid at registration, October, November, December, and January.  Senior can be broken in 2 payments at registration and October. Both payment plans require that the family agree to a contract for the duration of the season.  No refunds will be given unless a swimmer is injured and agreed upon by the board.  Not continuing to swim nor not attending practice/meets does not constitute any refund of fees nor does it absolve the family of their volunteer commitment.  Any additional sibling training fees beyond the first will be discounted by $50/$100/$150 per swimmer.

Also, at registration, each swimmer will be charged $25 for the yearly team registration (used to cover team, coach, board, other required non-athlete registrations plus other administrative expenses).  In the past, this charge was $100 which included the swimmers USA and Lake Erie Swimming registration.  This year, USA Swimming is rolling out a new process where every parent will register their own swimmer vs. me doing it.  More information on this to come.

Vince has emailed the training group rosters, so please refer to this when registering your swimmer.  I also have a list of everyone’s assignments so reach out to me if you have forgotten.

As a not-for-profit, we use our home meets to raise money towards our coaching and pool fees.  By all pitching in with these fundraisers, we are able to keep our fees reasonable.  This season we are increasing the requirements to 15 credits per family to help spread the work.  The majority of these credits will be offered during our two hosted meets in January and February.  As in the past, any credits not completed during the season will be billed to your Team Unify account at a rate of $30/hour in March.  This requirement is for every group from White 1 to the high school swimmers.  Please note that every family will be required to sign-off that they acknowledge the financial and volunteer commitments and accept these requirements when registering their swimmer in order to join the team.

Registration is required before the swimmer can begin to practice.  Any swimmer who is 18 or turns 18 during the season will be required by United States Swimming to complete the Athlete Protection program on-line.  Before every meet a list of those 18 & older is run by Lake Erie swimming and your swimmer will not be allowed to compete without this being completed.  https://www.usaswimming.org/resource-center/athlete-protection-training

If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected].  I will not be available today but will be monitoring my email over the weekend if you run into any problems.  Please register any returning swimmers this weekend so that we know how many open spots that we have to let new swimmers in from try-outs.

Thanks,

Lisa Downing
