TIME STANDARDS OR "CUTS" 

Each year, USA Swimming establishes time standards, or "Cuts" for each of its major meets, from BB or age group meets through Olympic Trials, swimmers are always striving to make their next cut. In this section, you'll find all the information you need to move up to the next level, whatever that may be.

There are different time standards for different "types" of standard competitive pools:

• Short Course Yards (SCY): Competitions held in a 25-yard pool
• Short Course Meters (SCM): Competitions held in a 25-meter pool
• Long Course Meters (LCM): Competitions held in a 50-meter pool
