Online Clinic Frequently Asked Questions

ASCA Certification Credit - ASCA will give 3 units of certification credit to coaches who attend an Online Clinic.  To get credit, you need to email certification@swimmingcoach.org with the date and title of the clinic.  Questions should be directed to ASCA on certification credits.

Review the  *USA Swimming Coach Membership RequirementsIt is the responsibility of all Non-Athlete members to monitor and maintain their current certifications.

  • ​2019 Non-Athlete Registration Application - send application and payment to your CLUB Registrar.
  • Background Check www.usaswimming.org/backgroundcheck - **Jr Coach members do not need to complete a Background Check until they reach the age of 18**

  • **NEW** Additional certifications that coaches should be aware of:
    • Online Concussion Training https://www.cdc.gov/headsup/youthsports/training/index.html . Concussion Training is not currently required by USA Swimming but is required by a growing list of LSCs. If you coach at a meet in one of those LSCs, you may be required to prove your certification. PRINT THE CERTIFICATE at the end of the training or you will have to repeat the course to get it. Submit the certificate to the ISI Registration Coordinator so that it can be documented in your membership record. This certification will not appear on your Deck Pass Membership Card until USA Swimming requires it for everyone. Keep a copy for yourself as proof of certification.
    • Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training - Coming soon. Online.
    • Anti-Doping Ed - Coming soon. Online.

**Current certificate for CPR, In-Water, and STSC-Online must be sent to the ISI Registration Coordinator. Send to jen@iaswim.orgBGC, APT, FOC will match automatically to the coach's member record when completed/updated.

Coach membership card will update in Deck Pass within 24 hours of completing/updating certifications. Coaches may print a copy of their card, or may show the membership card on their phone to prove membership. Coaches will not be able to view or print their card if any certifications are missing or expired.           Deck Pass Membership Card Instructions
