USA Swimming Scholastic All American Award (application period is open on the USA Swimming website June 1-August 15 Requirements: Must have completed 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, minimum 3.5 GPA for the current academic year, must have swum an individual pool time equal to a Winter Juniors qualifying time during the SAA qualifying period.

Iowa Swimming and Judy Hoffman Scholarships Application due March 15th, announced in April, awarded at Spring House of Delegates meeting. Athlete Application for Iowa Swimming Schloarship  Both the IASI Swimming Scholarship and Judy Hoffman Memorial Scholarship Awards are granted to graduating high school seniors attending college in the fall of the same year. The awards are determined by the Scholarship Committee, with approval of the Iowa Swimming Board of Directors and based on qualities of citizenship, leadership, academics, service to Iowa Swimming, club representation, swimming excellence, and need.

Congratulations to Grace Frericks of BLST and Jordon Kloth of ACAC, 2022 recipients of the Iowa Swimming Scholarship Award.

Grace Frericks, daughter of Darren and Tricia Frericks, will graduate from Cedar Falls High School class of 2022. She has been swimming with the Black Hawk Area Swim Team (BLAST) since she was 6 years old and was a member of the Cedar Falls Swim and Dive Team all 4 years. Grace was a High School State Champion in the 100 Back, multiple State Championships at club state, and holds several records in both club and high school. She was a Junior National Qualifier and a member of The Des Moines Register Elite Team. Grace excelled in the pool and classroom as well where she earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors. Grace dedicates her time to coaching younger swimmers within her club BLAST and represents BLAST on the Iowa Swimming, Inc. House of Delegates. Grace plans to pursue her academic and swimming endeavors earning academic and athletic scholarships at The University of Kentucky studying Business with an emphasis in Sports Marketing. Go Wildcats!

Jordon Kloth, daughter of Michael and Teena Kloth, is a graduate of Ames High School where she has been a member of the Ames High School Girls Swim Team and the Ames Cyclones Aquatics Club. She is a member of the ACAC Junior National team and holds several state records. She is involved in the USA Swimming Board of Directors for Iowa as an Athlete Representative and serves on several committees. Jordon is also actively involved in the 4-H Archery Program where she is the chapter president, along with being on the Story County 4-H County Council, and Treasurer of the Ames FFA (an Iowa Degree holder). She is a member of Dance Marathon, DECA, NHS, and volunteers her time any way she can. Other than volunteering her time as an Athlete Rep, she enjoys volunteering every year for a river clean-up called Iowa Project Aware. She works for Jaspering Electric and the City of Ames as a Lifeguard in the summer. Jordon is planning to attend Delta State University in the fall to continue her education in Environmental Sciences and Biology and can’t wait to swim for the “Okra”!'


Congratulations to Lilly Weber of LMST, 2022 recipient of the Judy Hoffman Memorial Scholarship Award


Lilly Weber, the daughter of Sheri Shada and Kevin Weber, will be graduating from Linn-Mar high School with honors. She has been swimming since she was 7 years old. She has been a member of CRAA and LMST. She has been a member of her high school team making state all 4 years. She was a finals qualifier as well. Over her club swimming years she has swam for team Iowa at zones and competed at many sectional meets. Lilly has also been an athlete representative on the board of directors for the last two years as well as serving in numerous committees. She has represented Iowa at national workshops and conventions. During the day Lilly teaches elementary students how to swim as well as water safety rules. She will be attending William Jewell College in the fall to major in Nursing and to continue swimming.
