Anna Montaquila

Coaches Mondays: 5:30-6:30 AM

Coach Anna has been instructing, coaching and swimming most of her life. In recent years she has been the head coach at Woodcrest Swim club and has run their masters program for the last 4 years. Her philosophy on swimming is rooted in sparking an enjoyment of the sport and developing good technique.

Anna's practices are focused on all aspects of developing a well round swimmer but usually involves distances sets. DIfferent strokes are always added to the mix to avoid injury. However, she is always willing to help modify the practice for those who need it. 


Debbie Kassekert

 Coach Debbie N Kassekert is a USAT Level 1 Cert Coach, ACE Cert Personal Trainer, USMS Level 1 & 2 Cert Swim Coach, Swim Speed Cert with Sheila Taormina, Swim Smooth Coaches Ed 2019. Triathlete for 10 years & 3x USAT AG National Qualifier.  Debbie's coaching strength is training my athltetes to be strong, confident & ready for their swim.

Debbie's sessions are typically a moderate to challenging workout designed for the swimmer who can swim freestyle consistently for 200 meters. Workouts address the needs of those swimming for triathlon events (including open water skills) or recreational/fitness swimming.  Freestyle swim drills are incorporated to help the swimmers refine swim mechanics. Emphasis is placed on sets of swim intervals at varied paces using different energy systems to improve overall efficiency, fitness & speed.


Mike Gadzinski 

Coaches Wednesday: 5:30 - 6:30 AM

Coach Mike has been coaching swimming and triathlon for the past 15 years. He has been on deck as a head coach of a masters team for the past 6 years and is both a USA Swimming and USA Triathlon Certified coach. During his time coaching, Coach Mike has also spent summers coaching teams in both Tri County and Suburban swim leagues as well as USS age group swimmers and masters swimmers.

Mike specializes in working with adult swimmers of all abilities, regardless of if they are training for their first triathlon or preparing for the US Masters Nationals. Mike has been a masters swimmer himself since 2008 and has also been a competitive triathlete for over 15 years. He grew up swimming in the local Tri County summer league and went on to swim in college.


Lars Brown

Coaches Wednesday: 5:30 - 6:30 AM

Lars is a USMS Level 2 Certified Coach, former collegiate rower, calisthenics practitioner, and surfer. His love for open water sports transfers into his practices by focusing on building comfort in and feel for the water.

His practices mix work at specific intensity levels as well as various strokes. If you are accustomed to swimming endless laps mindlessly in the grey zone, these practices will surprise you. If you are a former age-group, high school, or collegiate swimmer, and have been out of the water for a while, these practices will reignite your passion for swimming and physical conditioning.


Chessie McDonald

Coaches Friday Mornings: 5:30 - 6:30 AM

Chessie started swimming competitively at seven years old and to this day is fully involved in the sport. She has been a swim coach for seven years to swimmers of all ages and ability levels and joined the SJAC family in 2017. " Even though it may not always be fun hearing that alarm go off at 4:45am, I love being a part of the SJAC Masters team!"

Coach Chessie has been an SJAC Masters coach for 3 years now. She excels at working with people at every stage in their swimming career and loves to see them work hard and achieve their goals. Her goals as a coach is improvement for all swimmers in ability, confidence and stroke mechanics - along with making sure every swimmer is exhausted when they step out of the pool at  the end of each practice!


Carol Restrepo - Masters and Adult Swim Coach!

Coaches Masters on Friday Nights: 7:00 - 8:00 PM

Coach Carol has a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to swimming and coaching.  Having swam competitively her whole life and through college, she continues to swim at the Masters level where she had the privilege of qualifying for and competing at  Long  Course  Nationals In celebration of her 50th birthday.  She has coached locally both for Tri-county and at the club levels, including a team right here at the Coliseum!  Carol is a certified Level 1 and Level 2 ASCA Coach, Level 1 and Level 2 ASCA Masters Coach, and Level 1 and Level 2 USMS Coach!

Carol has expertise in stroke error analysis and technique correction in all four competitive strokes with the goal of refining skills to enable the age group or adult swimmer to move through the water with greater efficiency and effectiveness and reducing the risk for repetitive motion injury,  thereby improving workouts for life-long enjoyment.
