2021-22 Parent Committee

PresidentsRob and Meg Zeigler

  • Work with Pete and Kristen Holcroft to organize Parent Committee meetings and make sure parent committee is staying on task.  Parent Committee meetings will be once a month.

Vice-President - Jodi and Mark Swanholm

  • Help President with running the meetings and making sure parent committee is running smoothly.

Treasurer - Kristen Holcroft

Secretary - Tracy Kiesel

  • Take notes at each meeting, email out the notes to team members and post online.

Officials Coordinator - Stephanie Zane and Scott Peters

  • Coordinate officials for SJAC hosted meets.  Get more parents involved in officiating at meets.  Coordinate training for officials.

Volunteer Coordinator- Christine Volm

  • Works with Committee leaders to make sure all positions are filled and reconciles hours after events.  Sets up Team Unify for timers and runners.

Meet Committee Coordinators - Each committee will have a coordinator who will reach out to the people that have signed up for their committee and coordinator those members.  The Coordinator doesn't have to be at every meet, but is responsible for making sure their committees are staffed at every meet.  The Meet Coordinators will float to make sure meet runs smoothly

  1. Head Meet Coordinator - Missy Lang - Works with Meet Committees to make sure all positions are filled for each meet.  Will also work to assign individual meet coordinators for each session who will manage where volunteers are going during meets, make sure all volunteers have supplies needed for their position (change for concessions/front desk; clean pencils, clipboards, watches and buttons fr timers/officials; meet sheets for stagers, etc.), keep Meet Timeline on track, and work as a floater to fill in where needed.  
  2. Parking Coordinator - Coordinates 4-6 volunteers per session to set up and break down cones for parking lot and help direct traffic during meet.
  3. Meet Set-up/Clean up Coordinator - coordinates 4-6 volunteers at each meet to help with meet setup/breakdown, including chairs and tables for coaches and officials, bleachers, hospitality, and staging area.  Setup and cleanup takes about 30-60min before and after each meet.
  4. Staging/Chaperone/Timing coordinator - Coordinates 5-8 stagers and chaperones per session to makes sure we have volunteers to keep an eye on swimmers in the staging area and that swimmers are lined up for their events.
  5. Hospitality Coordinator - Works with Kristen Holcroft to organize food for volunteers, coaches and officials at all meets.  Coordinates 2 volunteers at each session to work the hospitality room at swim meets
  6. Safety/Operational Risk Coordinator - Must be a registered Safety Director with USA Swimming.  Helps to organize all safety volunteers during meets to check ID's and certs to band coaches and officials at meets.
  7. Front Desk/Concessions Coordinator - Coordinates 3-4 volunteers at each session to run the concessions stand and the front desk.  Also responsible for putting out a signup genius for food donations. 
  8. Pro Shop Coordinator (at meets) - Jodi Swanholm - makes sure the Pro Shop is staffed for all meets.

Fundraising Coordinator 

  • Fundraising Committee will organize all fundraising events throughout the year, with an emphasis on the Swim-a-thon, Wine & Beer Social, Golf Outing, and Sports Pools (Football, March Madness, etc)  The committee will also work with the Pete, Kristen and the coaches to decide how the fundraising money should be spent, including travel and Special Olympics.  In addition, each event will have their own committee

Banquet Coordinator - 

  • organize the end of the year banquet

Group Leaders - Direct liaison between coaches and parents.  Work with coaching staff to organize social activities.  Help recruit parents from each age group to register for meet volunteer positions.  Point of contact for new parents and returning parents who have questions about the team, meets, or events.  Also coordinates pictures for their group throughout the year to store on google photo and construct a slide show for that group to show at the end of the year banquet/Senior Slide Show,

  • Coordinate all hotels, flights, vans and food for all travel meets with Kristen Holcroft. Works with Kristen, Pete and Fundraising Coordinator in determining travel fees.
