Peter Holcroft

SJAC Head Coach / Director of Competitive Swimming                                                       

Platinum Head Coach/ Silver Head Coach

Pete brings a strong swimming background to our team. He was a four year college swimmer and record-holder at the University of Delaware where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education.  Entering his 13th season as Head Coach of SJAC, Pete has coached swimmers at all levels, from beginning swimmers to those at the Olympic level.  Pete has coached the Delaware Otters, Barclay Farms Swim Club, Deerbrook Swim Club and has been a guest coach and speaker for USA swimming camps. Pete is currently level 4 ASCA certified and has coached numerous Top 16 and All-American swimmers.

Tyler Santangelo

Director or Aquatic Therapy/Exercise Physiologist, A.T.R.I.C

Tyler grew up swimming in South Jersey, first at Riverdel Swim Club and later at Wahoos and Delran High School.  While in college, he developed a love of coaching and aquatics.  Tyler graduated from West Virginia University, earning his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Aquatic Therapy.  During his time at WVU, Tyler had the opportunity to intern with Head Coach Vic Riggs and the West Virginia University Division 1 swim team. For 7 years, he coached in the Tri-County Swim League, starting at Riverdel Swim Club, then Old Orchard Swim Club, and most recently at Tenby Chase Swim Club where he was the Head Coach for 4 seasons.


Since joining the SJAC/NL Aquatics family in 2016, Tyler has taken on the roles of Director of Aquatic Therapy and Aquatics Director and  had the opportunity to coach Silver, Gold Select, Senior, and now Platinum.  He has also taken advantage of every opportunity SJAC has provided to learn from and coach alongside Olympic coaches and swimmers at the Fitter Faster, Mid-Atlantic Elite, and Eastern State Swim Clinics. Tyler is a level 3 ASCA swim coach, and is currently purusing his level 4 ASCA.

Chris Gaffney

Platinum & Gold Coach

Chris comes with many years of coaching experience across all levels of the sport of swimming. He grew up in the South Jersey area and went on to swim at Southern Illinois University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education Teacher Education with a minor in Coaching. After earning his Bachelors Degree, he stayed on at SIU as the Graduate-Assistant Swimming & Diving Coach while he earned his Masters Degree in Kinesiology (M.S.), with a specialization in Sport Psychology and Exercise Science. 

Upon graduation, Chris had the opportunity to coach and teach in Phuket, Thailand. He was the Head Age Group Coach at Thanyapura Sports and Leisure Club and then went on to be the Assistant High Performance Swim Coach & Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the British International School in Phuket. During this time, Chris's athletes brought in more than 60 National Records across 7 countries, had athletes participate in the Youth Olympic Games, Southeast Asian Games, World Championships and the Rio Olympic Games in 2016. He is an ASCA (USA) Level 4 as well as an ASCTA (Australia) Silver Level Swim Coach.  Chris is a coach for both the Platinum and Gold Groups and he also teaches Health and Physical Education in the Winslow Township School District.

Jacquie Ward

Platinum Assistant Coach

Jacquie is in her fifth year with SJAC and the Platinum group. She formerly swam for CCY from age 14-18 under Pete Holcroft and Greg Barone. She swam for Stratford Swim Club from age 8-16 then for Larchmont Swim Club for her last 2 years. In high school Jacquie was a national finalist at YMCA nationals, All State, and team captain at Eastern High School. Jacquie was the first and only female swimmer to have her swim suit retired at Eastern. In college Jacquie swam 1 year at Indiana University in the Big Ten Conference under Ray Looze. She swam 3 years at Rutgers University where she was the team captain, MVP, Big East finalist, and NCAA qualifier. Jacquie graduated from Rutgers as a Psychology and Biology major with aspirations to become a Physician Assistant.

Joe Kuder

Gold Select Head Coach

Joe Kuder grew up swimming since the age of 7 at Sunnybrook Swim Club in Moorestown NJ.  While on the Moorestown High School Swim Team he lead the team as a Captian for 2 years and was a 4 year Varisty Swimmer.  He also swam for BCY where he lead the team as a Captain for 2 Years.  After graduating high school, Joe went on to Swim for 4 years at Lycoming College where he was a Captain his Junior and Senior Year.  While in College, Joe was an assistant coach at Sunnybrook Swim Club for 3 years.  Joe Graduated Lycoming College with Honors with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with Concentrations in Marketing and Management. 

Kait Richter

Kait started swimming at Downs Farm Swim Club. When she was eight, she began swimming under Coach Pete Holcroft at CCY, later becoming SJAC until she was 18 years old. She also swam for four years at Bishop Eustace Prep. Kait went onto study Elementary Education and Special Education at Loyola University Maryland. While at Loyola, she also swam as a Lady H2ound, becoming a four-year varsity swimmer and holding the team record in the 200 yard butterfly. Kait now works as an early childhood special education teacher at the Delaware Autism Program.

RT brings a strong understanding and commitment to the SJAC philosophy, having past experience as a national swimmer and coach under Pete Holcroft. He takes pride in your swimmers success in and out of the pool. He has experience coaching all group levels at SJAC during his tenure. He currently teaches health and physical education at Delran Intermediate School in Delran, New Jersey.

RT graduated from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education. He was a four-year varsity swimmer, multiple All-Conference award winner and a quad captain his senior year. He served two years as a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and also represented TCNJ his senior year as the school representative for the New Jersey Athletic Conference.

He has coached all levels of swimming ranging from beginners to National qualifiers. Other coaching experiences prior to SJAC have included Tri-County swimming and USA Swimming. He served as an assistant coach at Barclay Farm Swim Club under Pete Holcroft and Express Swimming, located in Princeton, NJ, as a head age group coach. 

For over a decade RT has been the Head Coach at Haddon Glen Swim Club located in Haddon Heights, NJ. RT has taken Haddon Glen from 100 swimmers to over 250 total swimmers along with three division championships and multiple Tri-County champions. 

Michael Simunek

Senior Head Coach 

Mike is a long time South Jersey swimmer. His career began at Willowdale (Tri-County) where he started as an 8-under. He continued swimming though high school with the Platinum group and Cherry Hill East. He finished his swimming career with a strong 4 years at Rowan University, swimming under coach Brad Bowser.  While at Rowan, Mike received Academic All-American, and All-American honors after competing at NCAAs his Junior and Senior year and held 5 school records at the time of graduation. Soon after, he earned his masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University with a focus in Solids/ Mechanics of Materials. Along with coaching the Senior group, he works for the Navy in the propulsion machinery department where he spends his time “fixing ships”.

Mike has spent many years in the pool and on deck coaching/giving lessons and uses his knowledge of competitive swimming to develop practices aimed at developing all areas of a diverse swimmer. A true motivator, he uses modern coaching techniques to refine strokes of the individual swimmer with the goal of achieving their full performance potential.

Alex Trauger

Alex swam for Larchmont Swim Club in Mt Laurel for 12 Years. He continued to swim at Rider University where he began pursuing a degree in communications. He serves as an assistant coach at Larchmont Swim Club in the summer and works with many group such as Gold 2 & 3 and Silver 2. He is also a Platinum groupveteran and has an exceptional coaching ability.
Reggie Shearer

Gold Assistant Coach

Reggie has been coaching for SJAC since 2013. He was a swimmer for 12 years. He swam at West Chester University of PA where, along with being men’s team captain his senior year, he was a two-time national champion, 22-time All American, two-time All American Honorable Mention, three-time PSAC Swimmer of the Year, and PSAC Rookie of the year. Reggie started coaching in 2007 at Germantown Academy Aquatic Club, under head coach Richard Shoulberg. While with GAAC, Reggie was an assistant coach with the high school as well as the age group program. He helped lead various stroke and turn clinics and gave private swim lessons. Along with being a coach at SJAC he has also been the head coach in the summer at Wexford Leas Swim Club since 2014. Reggie is a teacher and is currently teaching first grade in Salem City School District.


Drew Ruggieri

Gold Assistant Coach

Drew has been swimming competitively, or around the pool, ever since he was 6 years old.  He graduated from Germantown Academy where he was a national age group record holder, All-American and currently holds multiple school and pool records.  He went on to swim for four years at the University of South Carolina where he was a conference champion, broke multiple school records, earned All-American honors, was ranked in the top 100 in the world and qualified for Olympic Trials.  He is honored to be coaching and part of the SJAC family.

Stephanie Dean

Assitant Silver Coach

Head Silver II & Gold II Coach 

Stephanie grew up swimming for Pomona Swim Club and Cinnaminson High School. While at Cinnaminson she earned the Unsung Heroine Award. Stephanie continued her swimming career at Kutztown University where she earned her bachelor's degree in Sports Management with minors in Business and Advertising. While at Kutztown she was nominated to the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, the National Society of Leadership and Success and competed in 3 consecutive PSAC Championships. Stephanie currently works for NL Aquatic Center as the Director of Marketing and Communications. 

Kristin Davis

Bronze Head Coach

Coach Kristin began swimming when she was 5 years old in Virginia.  She competed at the national level holding many age group records. She went on to swim for JMU where she was a conference champion.  Kristin Graduated from JMU with degrees in Public Relations, Psychology, and Early Childhood Education.  She taught 1st grade in Virginia then moved to New Jersey where she began teaching 2nd grade and coached Tavistock Hills Swim Team. She then started a family of her own and stayed home to raise her 4 children before just recently going back to teaching 2nd grade.

Meg Mitchell
Lisa Curley

Senior II Coach

Lisa grew up down in Vineland swimming for the YMCA in the summer and the Mighty Marlins in the winter. She has been swimming since she was 7. Lisa was a 4-year varsity letter swimmer for Vineland High School, where she graduated in 2015. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and an NJSIAA Academic All American. Lisa went on to Temple University, to study Kinesiology, and swam on the club swim team each year. She was a member of the Temple National Team in 2016 and 2017. She graduates with her Bachelor’s degree in May 2019. Lisa intends to pursue a physical therapy assistant degree upon leaving Temple. Since 2016, she has been an instructor for the SJAC swim school She is excited to join the SJAC coaching staff!

Anna Montaquila
Assistant Silver II & Gold II Coach 

Anna began swimming in Philadelphia with the CYO at the age of 5. She swam for Neshaminey High School and for Millersville University. She continues to be an active swimmer with the Master Swim program at NL Aquitices. Her degrees in Education and psychology help her to coach kids and Adults of all levels and ability. She has coached with competitive and non-competitive teams but her goal is always to share the joy and benefits of this lifetime sport.

Kailey Stankus

Assistant Silver II and Gold II Coach
Kailey grew up in Cherry Hill swimming for Kingston Estates Swim Club for 11 years and Haddontowne Swim Club for two years. She swam for Pheasant Run and the YMCA Hurricanes for six years and SJAC for four years after that. Kailey goes to Rowan University and swims on the club team. She has multiple records and has qualified for nationals for her club team. In school, Kailey is studying Human Services to become a social worker. For the past four summers Kailey has been the Head Assistant Coach at Haddontowne Swim Club. Kailey is also the Head Coach of SJAC’s Special Olympic Swim Team and has been working with the team since the first season in 2017.  
Chris Howie



Chris Howie has been the head swim coach at Fox Hollow since 2007.  He swam 4 years for Kutztown University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in history.  During the winter, Chris was the head swim coach of Cherry Hill Aquatic, and was a satellite coach for TWAC under Nancy Pegues.
