Coaches Corner:

  1. GREAT JOB to all swimmers who competed this weekend. There were some amazing swims and we will send out a short write up later in the week once all results have been processed.
  2. Silver, Bronze, and Blue will be practicing outside at Baker Park, starting today.
  3. Weekend practice will be on Sunday this weekend, due to the Baker Park Invite on Saturday. We will practice 13 & Over Senior with NAT and Pre NAT from 345-6 PM, and 12&U Senior with Gold from 6-745 PM.
  4. The Summer Practice Schedule is on the website - any required changes due to weather or weekend meets will be communicated weekly or as necessary.

Baker Park Team Info:

  1. Team T-Shirts and Caps will be handed out prior to the first meet if the shipments arrive in time.
  2. Stroke and Turn Officials - - In our summer league, any parent can be a Stroke and Turn Official after a little instruction and oversight. For every dual meet we need to provide at least two officials, more if we split sessions or Host, so please consider learning how to be a summer official.  Please email Kate Baganski (kbaganski@verizon.net) to learn more.
  3. Our Baker Park Invitational Meet is this week!  Please sign up to donate food/drinks/ice under the Food/Drinks Event.  We have many volunteer opportunities which we as parents or teens still need to fill for this meet.  The volunteer signup sheet is posted under the Event now for all families to sign up to help for a shift or two. Times are all approximate until we have all our meet entries.  More accurate times and warmup times will be provided by the end of the week AND if you are free Friday night during evening practices, we can use help with last minute setup and preparations at Baker Park.
  4. Hillside AWAY Meet this Thursday- Still need 3 timers,1 place judge, 4 lineup, 1 helper at the scorers’ table and 2 stroke and turn officials (all of these jobs can be done by new parents or veteran parents; on the job training).
  5. NEW PARENT MEETINGS if you have not attended one yet or if you still have questions, come learn about swim team from a parent’s perspective. If you are a new parent and cannot attend our final session at 7:00 pm tonight (inside Y in Conference Room) please email Kate Baganski at kbaganski@verizon.net.

  1. COINS FOR COACHES FUNDRAISER: Monday, June 17 – Friday, June 28  Every summer the Tri-County swim league selects a charitable organization that they will support.  Each team is asked to participate in this fundraising effort.  This summer the league has chosen to support Gabrilella DiDio and A Mother's Wish.  Baker Park will participate and hold a Coins for Coaches fundraiser with all proceeds being contributed to the Tri-County league contribution to A Mother’s Wish. The 3 Baker Park/PAY coaches that collect the highest total amounts in COINS will be winners.  The winning coaches will be recognized with some fun activity, such as being pied in the face, silly stringed, racing against swimmers, etc.   Collection containers will be available during select practices, at swim meets and at the Baker Park Invitational.  We will send out communication about which practices the coin containers will be available. Thank you for participating in this fundraiser! How it works:
  • Swimmers and families are asked to donate to the fundraiser by putting their contributions in the container for the coach of their choice.
  • Coin donations will increase the total amount for a coach.  Dollar bills will decrease the total amount for a coach.
  • Example: If Coach Anthony has $10 in coins and a $10 bill then his total = $0 but raised $20 overall
  1. Would your swimmers like to try a fun Triathlon to support Malvern Prep?  Please see the attached flyer and www.malvernprep.org/chasethefriarSeveral PAY swimmers have participated in this fun activity in past years.
