Coaches Corner:

  1. Practice Schedules for the remainder of July are attached here.
  2. There is no practice this Saturday due to the Tri-County and JO Meets

Baker Park Team Info:

  1. Congratulations to our 10&Under Boys!  On Tuesday, the 9-10 100M Free Relay team of Derek Wan, Matthew Truong, Howard Shui, and Nathan Deeney broke the Baker Park pool record THEN on Wednesday the 9-10 100M Free Relay team of Andy Yu, Matthew Truong, Howard Shui, and Nathan Deeney broke the Baker Park pool record again.  Way to go!
  2. This Tuesday-Dual Meet away at Bellewood Country Club.  Deadline has passed to enter this Tuesday meet. Swimmer Check-In will be 5:15pm.  
  3. We still need the following volunteer positions filled for Tuesday night’s meet.  Times are all approximate.  We hope to end the meet by 9:30pm.  Please sign up under the Event and please report to the Scoring Table to check in with the Volunteer Coordinator when you arrive at the meet.  These are jobs that anyone can sign up to do.
    • One Place Judge/Finish Recorder- 2nd half  (writing down the order of the finishes for the first heat of every race)
    • Nine Timers- 2nd half
    • One Swimmer Line up helper- 2nd half
  4. REMINDERS: Deadlines for signing up for Champs has passed for Teens and is today for all 12&Unders.   Email your practice coach ASAP with questions or concerns.  We need to submit our meet entries to the league early this week.  We need to supply Timers and Officials for Senior Champs and B Champs.  Please sign up to help if you are attending those Champs.  Furthermore, we need all hands on deck to host the A Champs –please sign up your teens to help too if they are free to help for A Champs.  All families attending A Champs will be asked to help at the meet next Monday.  Food/Drink donations will be needed as well to support the swim team snack stand.  Thank you in advance to all!
  5. Thursday, July 25 6:30-8pm is the Baker Park End of Season Picnic held outdoors as a potluck pizza party.  Details are under Events on our website.  Please Commit your swimmer to Attend or Decline as you would a swim meet then RSVP for all other family members under the Job Signup so we have a better attendance number for our pizza order.

Odds and Ends:

  1. All awards from the UMLY and North End Invitational Meets have been handed out or filed in your family folder inside the Y.  Please check your folders next time you are inside the Y.   Awards from Champs will be available at our July 25th Pizza Party.
  2. Letters to Coach Colin:  On July 6 Coach Colin left for the Navy and will spend the next 5 weeks in training.  If your swimmer or family would like to write a note to send to Coach Colin, please bring it to Jackie or Rob Brucker during swim meets by Thursday, July 25th.  They will be sending a package of all swimmer notes to Coach Colin.
  3. LOST- Tent from UMLY meet- Allyssa Utecht left early (before 400 free) and left her tent for other PAY swimmers to use.  When she went back that evening during the younger/second session on Sunday evening it was gone.  Did any of our families bring it home for safekeeping?  Please let Utechts know if you have it.  Thank you!
