PAY Parents Aquatic Club (PAC) Weekly News 11.22.21

What a weekend of swimming!  We had many swimmers achieve new Keystone and Winterfest qualifying cuts.  Congratulations!  Our Phoenixville Branch YMCA swim team continues to swim well against high caliber teams.  Check out this link to  for summaries of our recent USA meet performances.  At the TOC meet, our average power points per swim was higher than any team attending.  WAHOO!  This website also is a great resource for any families wanting to look into college swim data.

Here's the Parent News you need for this week:

Thank you to all the volunteers who were timers or officials at the TOC York meet this past weekend.  Thank you also to our PAY coaches who enthusiastically stood on their feet each day providing encouragement and coaching during the long swim meets.

Also, thank you to all for the food donations at our two home swim meets so far. Our PAY Swim Team collected 16 boxes and bags filled with food which we donated to Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS).  We will collect more food donations in January at our home meets.  Stay tuned!

Winterfest - the deadline to commit to attend has passed however  we will likely be able to add more qualifiers until late December. Swimmers must have 2 Individual qualifying events to attend (qualifying times are listed on our website) and there is a $100 flat fee to attend this year whether your athlete qualifies for 2 events or 7 events. An eligibility chart is posted in the event, updated through 11/21 - If your swimmer is listed then they are eligible to attend Winterfest at this point in time.  Any time shaded in grey is ineligible. If you have any questions, please reach out to a Coach.

We are still waiting to hear about whether or not Ridley Y will host an invitational meet; if not, we will have our dual meet against West Chester Y on this date. Stay tuned for info.

SAVE THE DATE- teens and families- we will be hosting a US Masters Swim Meet on Sunday, January 9th open to USMS-registered swimmers ages 18-100+.  This meet also serves as a PAY swim team fundraiser so we will look for teens and families to volunteer and help us host this incredible morning to early afternoon meet at our YMCA.

PRACTICE UPDATES:   There will be NO practices this Thursday because it is THANKSGIVING and the YMCA is closing early. Enjoy your meal!

FOUND- a few PAY tshirts were picked up at swim meets in October and November.

Please email Kate Baganski with questions or to claim!

The Turkey Trot ribbon awards for 1st through 6th places (overall, not per heat) have been filed in Family Folders. The family folders are alphabetically stored in or on the filing cabinet in the hallway near the big window next to the Myrin pool. If you are new to our PAY Swim Team we will add a family folder if your swimmer receives any meet awards this season - please just take your awards, not the whole folder. Not all of the invitational meets provide ribbons but some do.  Ribbons are not distributed at dual meets.

Congratulations to Anya Mostek for setting a new Team Record in the Open Girls 400 IM. The old record was also hers at 4:19.83 and her new record is 4:17.10.

Reminder that if you need any suits or swimming equipment, you can purchase items at any time through our preferred vendor TYR’s website: see HERE

Calling all Seniors - please let us know as you make your post graduation plans so we can share your news with your teammates!  We will look forward to celebrating each milestone with you this year!

Please wish the following teammates a Happy Birthday (and if you remind the Coaches about Birthday Butterfly, that's good too!)

Alexandra Parsia turns 15 on 11/23!
