Become a USA Swimming Official!

We need more certified USA Swimming officials!

A swim meet, in order to take place, needs a certain amount of certified USA Swimming officials. Our meets always need more than the minimum as we are running two pool simultaneously. Becoming a certified official for USA Swimming is a bit different than for the local summer leagues. However, the Middle Atlantic Swimming Officials Committee has made the first step (attending the training class) even easier with the introduction of online classes! Mostly we need parents (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.) of our younger swimmers to become officials. Every year we say goodbye to a few officials as their children graduate from high school and are no longer team members. Not only do we need to replace them but we also need officials for our 9-10, 11-12 and (MOST IMPORTANTLY) 8 & under swimmers to ensure that their events are properly officiated. When you officiate at GPAC hosted swim meets it will count toward your meet work commitment and get you closer to receiving $150 of your team administrative fee back.

If you have any questions about becoming an official, please email Matt Sprang ([email protected]).
