TriUDAC, UDAC's youth triathlon team, practices and competes throughout the Spring and Summer. Sessions are geared toward introducing young athletes to multisport, and developing their skills and capabilities with the goal of competing in youth triathlon events. Practices include swimming, however we encourage our triathletes to also participate in a competitive swim program. TriUDAC is led by a certified USA Triathlon Youth & Junior Coach.
Competition opportunities are communicated to families, and we compete as a team at local events throughout the season.
Practices include:
- Development of swim skills, including practice and strategies for pool and open water swims
- Development of cycling skills, including bike safety and cycling with other riders
- Development of run skills, including run form, speed, and endurance
- Transition skills and practice
- Emphasis on fun, competition, sportsmanship, and fitness for life
Participation requirements:
- Age 8-18
- Must be able to proficiently and continuously swim at least 50 yards
- Must be able to ride and safely control a two-wheel bicycle
Equipment requirements:
- Two-wheel bicycle in working order
- Proper fitting US CPSC approved bicycle helmet
- Running Shoes
- Swim suit, cap, goggles, etc.
