On Sunday May 2, 2021 the Illinois YMCA State Swimming Committee voted unanimously to put the 2021 Long Course State Meet back on the schedule. On May 4th, the Illinois Missouri Area Committee was informed by the St. Louis District that they were formally requesting to leave the Illinois Missouri Area. The committee voted unanimously to allow the St. Louis District to leave to form their own Area and wish them the best of luck. With the departure of the St. Louis District the Committee voted to adopt a new name.
