MULTI-SPORT GROUP (MSG)

The Multi-Sport Group will be geared towards swimmers (AGD level and above) who are 13 years old and older who wish to further their technical and training skills, but whose commitments outside the pool (academics, other sports) make it difficult to commit to training at the TAG or NAT level.

Group Objectives and Focus

  • Gradual development of swimming speed, power and endurance.
  • Strength building with the use of body weight exercises in dry-land (i.e. circuit training)
  • Development of technical skills that are specific to the sport of competitive swimming
  • Stretching and activation exercises to develop flexibility and workout readiness.
  • Competitions are used to learn and employ basic race strategies and tactics relative to the swimmer's realistic goals, ability and commitment levels.
