COVID-19 Reports of Occurrence

To: USA Swimming club leaders

Following several club inquiries, we would like to clarify that any alleged COVID-19 related incidents, either positive tests or asymptomatic, should be submitted through the standard Report of Occurrence (ROO) system: https://fs22.formsite.com/usaswimming/form18/index.html

The insurer will maintain the ROO as an incident only but no additional action will be undertaken unless a formal liability claim is ever filed. As shared in past communication, the participant accident insurance does not cover for Covid-19 or other transmitted or contagious illness.

The club should be following the guidelines as set forth by the local jurisdiction. If the guidelines include reporting and follow-up requirements to a health organization, then those requirements should be followed.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Steve Levine in Risk Management with any questions at [email protected].
