Maryland Swimming

Our Vision:  To make swimming the sport of choice for Maryland.

Our Mission:  Maryland Swimming provides opportunities for athletes to participate in competitive swimming, reach their full potential, and develop skills for life-long success.

Our Core Values:  Proactive Achievement, Respect, and Ownership.

Have you ever wondered how Maryland Swimming keeps being recognized as a stellar LSC within USA Swimming? Ever wondered how the MDSI Championship Meet series is developed? Do you want to know more about how we spend the money collected from your fees? Then we have an easy way for you to get these and many more questions answered, but more importantly YOU can become one of the decision makers!

MDSI is a non-profit organization that is 501c3 recognized and incorporated in the state of Maryland. A significant requirement to maintain this status is to have a self-governing Board of Directors that are empowered to carry out the expectations of the membership.  Our vision is: To Be the Sport of Choice in Maryland. How can we achieve this goal? Through the Board positions and the committee work, we strive to make sure we are addressing the needs of the athletes, the coaches, the officials, the teams and clubs and all the volunteers from each team or club.

We need your ideas and energy to meet these needs! We need diversity in thought and representation of these constituencies. We need YOU! A list of open positions for the board and elected committees for the 2023-2024 Swim Seasons has been posted on our websitePlease take a look to see if you are interested in one of these open positions. You can find succinct descriptions of the duties of each role on our website. If you have specific questions, please reach out to any one on the board and we will answer or find answers to your questions.

I am looking forward to seeing your name on the slate of candidates that will be presented at the next Maryland Swimming House of Delegates meeting in May. 2023.

Respectfully.
Wade Atkins
General Chair, Maryland Swimming
