Brendan McElroy Head Coach
Trevor Rill Assistant Coach

Coach Trevor has been working for the JCC since 2010 and began coaching for JCC Swimming in 2012. Before joining the JCC, Trevor  was a swim instructor for the Westminster Municipal Pool and the Carroll County YMCA. During his tenture at the JCC, Coach Trevor has helped oversee the growth of the JCC swim team by introducing the team's "dryland" program, the team's underwater filming feedback system, the JCC 8 and Under "Junior Barracudas" program and has overseen recruitment and advertising campaigns. Coach Trevor also works as an instructor for the JCC Swim School and JCC Early Childhood Education Center.

Coach Trevor graduated from with a BS in Liberal Arts and Technology focusing on Middle School Math and Science Education from Stevenson University and a MS in Recreation and Sports Sciences focusing on Coaching Education and Athletic Administration from Ohio University. Coach Trevor is an American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA) Level 5 Education Coach and a Level 2 Achievement Coach. While pursuing his masters degree, Coach Trevor had the opportunity to work with collegiate level athletes and coaches from all over the country and continues to attend clinics and be mentored by Olympic level coaches to this day. Coach Trevor is currently pursing a Doctorate of Education in Sports Leadership and Management focusing on Sports Coaching from the United States Sports Academy.

Coach Trevor has been a volunteer on the Maryland Swimming Board of Directors for almost a decade, having has served as the Operational Risk and Safety Director for multiple state championship meets and has served as the Coaches Representative and is currently serving on the Safe Sport Committee.

Coach Trevor works very closely with all of the training groups at the JCC, leading dryland and water workouts for all of the training groups as well as serving as a stroke technician for all of the training groups.

Meghan Risper Coach (Senior Development)

Meghan Risper, a 2011 biology graduate from Spleman College in Atlanta, GA. Risper served as a volunteer coach at her alma mater, where she coached stroke groups and taught adult learn-to-swim. She spent summers coaching at a variety of different organizations focusing on distance swimming and stroke technique. Meghan Risper joined the JCC coaching staff during the 2013-14 season as an assistant coach over the Female-Only group. Risper began her swim career with Baltimore City Swim Club (BCSC) and has 15+ years of competitive swimming; swimming for North Baltimore Swim Club (NBAC).  Ms. Risper is a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, and teaches swim lessons for the JCC Swim School.  She also coordinates the Swim Team's summer SPEEDO Boot Camp program.

Stephanie McCown Coach (Age Group)

Coach Stephanie started her swimming career with the Hill Y in Westminster before moving to Carroll Aquatic Tiger Sharks (CATS) to begin USA swimming and swam for the Westminster Stingrays during the summer.  During her time at CATS she coached a Special Olympic team, taught swim lessons, and developed team leadership skills as Team Captain.  Stephanie continued her swimming career in college for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, specializing in 200 Breaststroke, 400 IM, and the mile.   

Ms. McCown began coaching the summer of 2009 for the Westminster Stingrays working with kids aged 4-12.  She continued at Westminster  until 2017 , becoming head coach and director of the swim lesson program.  She coached a spring season at the Hill Y where she also worked as a lifeguard.  Stephanie joined  JCC  Swimming  during the 2017 winter season  as an Assistant Coach with the Age Group and Junior Barracudas.  Now Stephanie works closely with all groups in the program.
