Level 4

 

Senior 1

~Age Requirement: Must be in High School

~Attendance Requirement:  Swimmers are expected to attend 6 practices per week unless approved by the groups coach in advance

~Swimmers in this group need to be focused, motivated and positive leaders for all younger swimmers on the team.  This group has a bit more pool time than Senior 2, so swimmers can expect more yardage and tougher intervals.  Swimmers in this group will be focusing on meets such as State Championships, Sectionals, Futures, Junior Nationals, and Nationals.

~Required Equipment for All Practices: Pull Buoy, Paddles, Snorkel, Cap, Goggles, and Water Bottle

~Meet Attendance Requirement:  As Coach Recommends (every 4-6 weeks)

 

Junior 1

~Age Requirement: 13-14

~Attendance Requirement:  Swimmer are expected to attend 5 practice per week unless approved by groups coach in advance

~Swimmers in this group are our most advanced and committed 13 - 14 year olds.  They are expected to be good examples to their peers and younger swimmers in the pool, on the deck, and anywhere else they represent the Clippers.  Junior 1 swimmers will be focusing on excelling in all 4 strokes with an increased emphasis on endurance and faster intervals than their previous Competition groups.  Swimmers in this group will be focusing on meets such as Junior Championships, State Championships, Sectionals, Futures.

~Required Equipment for All Practices:  Pull Buoy, Paddles, Snorkel, Cap, Goggles, and Water Bottle

~Meet Attendance Requirement:  As Coach Recommends (every 4-6 weeks)

 

Senior 2

~Age Requirement: High School

~Attendance Requirement: 4 practices per week

~Swimmers in this group are an advanced level of athletes continuing to develop strong stroke technique with an emphasis on training and competing at a higher level. Athletes in this group are committed and working towards being promoted to Senior 1 future seasons, by improving technique in all four strokes and increasing their strength and endurance through dryland and higher demand pool workouts. Swimmers are expected to be role models to the younger swimmers on the team.  This group will be focusing on meets such as Junior Championships and State Championships.

~ Required Equipment:  Pull Buoy, Paddles, Snorkel, Fins, Cap, Goggles, and Water Bottle

~Meet Attendance Requirement: As Coach Recommends (every 4-6 weeks)

 

Junior 2

~Age Requirement: 13 - 14 years old

~Attendance Requirement: 3 practices per week

~Swimmers in this group are athletes continuing to develop strong stroke technique and improve their training endurance.  Swimmers will working towards being promoted to Senior 1 or Junior 1 in future seasons. Swimmers are expected to be role models to the younger swimmers on the team.  This group will be focusing on meets such as Junior Championships and State Championships.

~ Required Equipment:  Pull Buoy, Paddles, Snorkel, Fins, Cap, Goggles, and Water Bottle

~Meet Attendance Requirement: As Coach Recommends (every 4-6 weeks)

 

Senior Maintenance (September - May only)

~Age Requirement: High School

~Attendance Requirement: 2 or the 3 practices per week

~Designed for High School aged swimmers who want to develop their competitive swimming skills but may participate in other sports or activities outside of swimming.  This group recognizes the importance of other high school activities however swimmers MUST commit and attend a minimum of two out of three weekly practices. Swimmers must demonstrate cognitive learning and advanced swimming skills required for all competitive strokes, starts, turns and increasing their overall strength and endurance. Swimmers are expected to be role models to younger swimmers on the team and present a positive attitude. Swimmers will be encouraged to attend meets approximately every 4-6 weeks as recommended by the coach. 

~ Required Equipment:  Pull Buoy, Paddles, Snorkel, Fins, Cap, Goggles, and Water Bottle

~Meet Attendance Requirement: As Coach Recommends (every 4-6 weeks)

 

Competition 1

~Age Requirement:  11 or 12 years of age

~Attendance Requirement:  4 practices per week unless approved by groups coach in advance

~Swimmers in this group are our most advanced and committed 11 and 12 year olds.  Most Swimmers in this group will have BB or faster times in some/most of their events.  Swimmer placed in this group need to be able to complete 100 off all 4 strokes.  Swimmers in this group will be working to improve technical skills, increase endurance levels, and need be ready to challenge themselves both in the pool and at dryland workouts.  Swimmers in this group will be focusing on meets such as Junior Championships and State Championships.

~Required Equipment: Pull Buoy, Fins, Paddles, Snorkel, Cap, Goggles, and Water Bottle

~Meet Attendance Requirement: As Recommended by Coach (every 4-6 weeks)

 

Competition 2

~Age Requirement:  11 or 12 years of age

~Attendance Requirement: 3 practices per week

~Swimmers placed in this group need to be able to legally complete a minimum of 50 yards of all 4 strokes.  Swimmers in this group are working on improving their technique and racing skills, while also trying to gain some endurance to better prepare for longer events.  Swimmers in this group will be working towards Junior Championships and State Championships.

~Required Equipment: Pull Buoy, Fins, Snorkel, Cap, Goggles, and Water Bottle

~Meet Attendance Requirement: As Recommended by Coach (every 4-6 weeks)

 

Competition 3

~Age Requirement: 11 or 12 years old

~Attendance Requirement: None (the more you attend the more you improve)

~Swimmers in this group are focusing on technique for all 4 strokes, starts and turns, as well as improving endurance to prepare for longer events.  Swimmers in this group will be working towards B times and Junior Championships.

~Required Equipment: Pull Buoy, Fins, Cap, Goggles, and Water Bottle

Development 1

~Age Requirement: 8-10 years of age

~Attendance Requirement: 3 practices per week unless approved by groups coach in advance

~Swimmers in this group are our most advanced and committed 8-10 year olds.  Most swimmers in this group will have BB or faster times in some/most of their events.  Swimmers in this group will be working to improve technique and endurance in all 4 strokes, and must be comfortable being challenged during their workouts.  Swimmers in this group will be working towards Junior Championships and State Championships.

~Required Equipment: Pull Buoy, Fins, Cap, Goggles, Snorkel, and Water Bottle

~Meet Attendance Requirement: As Recommended by Coach (every 4-6 weeks)

 

Development 2

~Age Requirement: 8-10 years of age

~Attendance Requirement: None (the more you attend the more you improve)

~Swimmers in this group need to be able to legally complete a 50 of both Free and Back, 25 of both Fly and Brst, and be comfortable doing repeats of these distances at practice to be placed in this group. Swimmers are focusing on improving their technique in all 4 strokes, learning practice etiquette and skills(pace clock work, etc), increasing endurance, and are working towards B Championships and Junior Championships.

~Meet Attendance Requirement: As Recommended by Coach (every 4-6 weeks)

 

Development 3

~Age Requirement:8-10 years of age

~Attendance Requirement:  None (the more you attend the more you improve)

~Swimmers in this group will be really focusing on improving technique and maintaining it properly for 50-100 yards.  Swimmers will also focus on starts, turns, and proper practice/meet etiquette.

~Required Equipment: Pull Buoy, Fins, Cap, Goggles, and Water Bottle

~Meet Attendance Requirement:  As Recommended by Coach (every 4-6 weeks)

 

Novice(September through May Only)

~Age Requirement: 6-8 years of age

~Attendance Requirement: None (the more you attend the more you improve)

~Swimmers in this group will be focusing on technique, technique, technique in all 4 strokes, starts, and turns.  We want the younger swimmers to learn good habits from the start.  Swimmers will also learn proper practice/meet etiquette.  To be in this group swimmers much show an ability to focus and listen well in a large group setting, as well as be legal for a 25 in 3 of the 4 strokes.
