CAC 2022-2023 GROUPS ADVANCEMENTS CRITERIAS
To advance to different groups, swimmers should meet all the advancement criterias of the “next” group OR have both coaches’ recommendation (prior and future coaches). Since the coaches have spent countless hours with the swimmers and understand how each swimmer is physically and mentally, they will be the one that makes the decisions on which swimmer goes to which group. Complete trust needs to be part of this process as coaches of CAC have the best interest of each swimmer on the team.
For the Novice Groups this happens at the end of each cycle (every 8 weeks) but can also happen at any other time his/her coach feels that he/she should “move-up”. His/her coach is constantly evaluating each swimmer and adjusting the practices to better accommodate the groups’ and team’s needs.
Technique & Fitness (T/F), Age Group, Junior and Senior group swimmers can move up after the SCY season, and after the LCM summer season.
If attendance and/or any other criteria is not being met within the Age Group, Junior, and Senior groups during a period of 60 days or more, swimmers could be withdrawn from their group and placed in a different group at any time during the year. Cases will be evaluated individually by the Coaches.
The age of the swimmer is the primary criteria for the T/F, Age Group, Junior, and Senior groups, but swimming skills could also be factored in the decision as to which group swimmers should be placed. Cases will be evaluated individually by the coaches.
