Safety Policies

All practices and swimming events are held in public facilities in Frederick County Maryland.  Currently all FAST activities are conducted in facilities owned by the Frederick County Public Schools.  Each site is manned at all times by a pool operator (minimum of 2 employees) and life guards that are school system employees.   Maryland  has extensive state regulations for  deck safety, water safety, inclement weather, health and contagious disease prevention for public access pools.  FCPS must comply with these regulations at all times.  FAST coaches, athletes and parents will comply with all directives of the pool operators or life guards.  Failure to do so may result in removal from the team.

• The Pool Facility will remain locked until an FCPS employee arrives
• Swimmers may not enter the facility until a coach has arrived
• All swimmers, coaches, volunteers, parents and guest from FAST will obey all verbal and whistle commands from the life guard or pool operator.
• The Head Coach or the coach she leaves in charge will wait at the pool until the last swimmer has left or is with their parent or guardian.
