About the Gators

Welcome to the Hagerstown Gators YMCA Swim Team. We are a year-round, competitive swim team offering high-quality, professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member with a Safe Sport environment giving the opportunity to improve swimming skills and to achieve success at his or her level of ability. Our team encompasses swimmers from novice to international competitors.

We are also a USA team but our affiliation with USA Swimming is not a requirement.

Our team competes during two seasons: summer and winter. The summer season typically runs from early May until late July, and the winter season runs from early September until April. Stroke Mechanics are also offered and are strongly recommended. They are offered 4-5 weeks prior to the start of the season. Stroke Mechanics allows the swimmer to focus on each of the four strokes for an entire week with an additional week for starts and turns. I
