Coaching Staff
Aaron Rog Head Coach

AJ is the fearless leader of Seacoast Swim Club and has been a part of the club for over 12 years.  He began swimming when he was 8 years old for Canoe City Swim Club in Old Town, Maine.  He was a member of 4 straight high school state championship teams at Old Town High School.  AJ went on to swim for 4 years at the University of Maine in Orono, where he specialized in backstroke and IM and was named captain his senior year.  After granduation, he stayed on for one year as an assistant coach.  AJ lives in Cumberland with his wife and children and is a full time teacher in Portland.  

Emily Wells Assistant Coach

Emily was an assistant coach for Seacoast Swim Club from 2016-2018, before going on a two-year adventure in Botswana! While away, she taught high school English and History to children in Gaborone, the Southern African nation's capital.  She came back to Maine in the fall of 2020 and returned to her coaching role with Seacoast.  Emily previously coached club and school swim teams in New York City after spending her college years swimming for Franklin & Marshall in PA.  

Rob Hale Assistant Coach

Rob Hale, a one-time Greely Rangers standout and longtime coach, is respected, admired and most of all beloved for the fun atmosphere he fosters.  Rob started swimming at the age of 12 and hasn't stopped.  He has coached the Greely High School and Middle School teams for over 20 years and has been with Seacoast since the club began.  In 2020, Rob was inducted into the Maine Swimming Hall of Fame.  

Larissa Herold Assistant Coach / Dryland Coach

Larissa is an accomplished athlete, swim coach & mom.  She was an Olympic Trial Swimming Finalist in 1992 in the 200m backstroke, 100m fly and 200m IM, and was an NCAA D-1 Finalist 1992-1997, USS Club Swim Coach for 10 years and a Master Swim Team coach for 17 years in Cumberland, Maine.   She went to The University of California at Berkeley on a full swimming scholarship, and graduated with a double major in psychology and social welfare and a minor in sociology. Larissa resides in Cumberland, Maine with her fiance and two sons. 

Madison Rawnsley Assistant Coach

Maddie began her competitive swimming career with SSC at age 10 and has been swimming even since! She swam for Greely High School and was a contributor to their 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 HS State Championship teams.  Following graduation from Greely, she was a 4 year member of the Merrimack Women's Division 1 swim team focusing on sprint freestyle and butterfly.  She resides in Cumberland and works as an Orthopedic Technologist. She's excited to be coaching for the club that has opened up so many opportunities for her and helped shape the person she is today.
