Swimming lessons should be considered an additional layer of protection needed to prevent drowning accidents. According to the CDC formal swimming lessons can reduce the chances of drowning by 88%.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Cost: $45 per session

When: 2-week sessions (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - 6 lessons total)

Class Length: 30 - 40 minutes


WHAT LEVEL SHOULD I REGISTER FOR:

Level 1: Students will begin to explore front and back floating, gliding, and kicking, as well as entering and exiting the pool. Students should be comfortable in the water.

Level 2: Students will work on stroke improvement with an emphasis on freestyle and backstroke. They will be introduced to other strokes as well. 

Level 3: Students continue to refine their basic skills and begin to work on more advanced strokes (breaststroke & butterfly) as they become ready for age group swimming. 


SEVERE WEATHER POLICY:

The pool will be closed and all programming canceled if BCPS closes due to weather or a tornado watch/warning is issued.
