Summer 2023 Swim Team

Welcome to DCAC’s 2023 Summer Season!

Summer varies from our typical season in that there are both long course USA sanctioned meets and the summer Washtenaw Interclub Swim Conference (WISC) meets.

WISC provides opportunities for DCAC swimmers to compete in dual meets against other local teams throughout the summer. Meets are held on Saturday mornings, often at outdoor pools. The season culminates in the WISC Championship Meet, typically held in the 3rd week of July.

Coaches select appropriate events for each swimmer, and parents are on deck to marshal the kids and make sure they get to their events. Though these meets offer a limited range of events, they provide a relaxed, relatively low-key introduction to competitive swimming, and are a big favorite of our younger swimmers in particular. Times achieved at these meets are not usable for USA Junior Olympic or State meets. There is no charge to enter WISC meets.

If you're unsure which practice group you should register for, please contact coach Mike to schedule an evaluation. Here are the fees for summer 2023:

Bronze: $200

Silver: $220

Gold/Platinum: $230

Senior/Tungsten: $275

The seasons starts the Tuesday after Memorial Day, May 30th and will run through the week of July 24th (the week of WISC championships). Practice times will continue after school, until the school year ends. Beginning on June 15th, we’ll switch to morning and/or afternoon practice (you only need to attend one—which ever time works better for your family).
