Welcome to Preschool Swim Lessons at the Jenison HS Aquatic Center

Preschool ARC Newsletter to parents

Preschool is designed to help students get comfortable in the water; this is a child's first class without parents in the water.  To enter preschool aquatics, participants must be three to five years old.  Jenison High School Aquatics Center swim lesson class size for preschool aquatics is held to a strict maximum class size of one instructor for four students.  The goal of preschool aquatics is to be safe and comfortable in the water.

Preschool skills include blowing bubbles, treading water, arms on front (ice cream scoops), backstroke arms, kicking on front and back, and opening eyes under water with assistance from the instructor.

Safety day topics include using a life jacket, recognizing a lifeguard, how to call for help, and how to stay safe around aquatic environments.
