LAC SPRING/SUMMER 2021

Welcome to Lakeview Aquatic Club! We are thankful to all our swim families for a smooth transition back to the pool this past fall and winter seasons.  We appreciate your diligence in following the safety protocols and ask that you continue to maintain that same dedication for the upcoming season.  We must continue to observe strict precautions if we are to continue to be allowed in a school facility.  The first week of practice (April 14-16) will be held at the Lakeview Middle School Pool.

The board has approved an administrative fee of $10.00 for each session.  This fee was added to help the club cover the cost of credit card processing.*  Additionally, the COVID Cleaning Fee continues for this session.  This is a $15 flat fee for all registration groups.  Also, all swimmers who did not swim in the fall or winter will need an seasonal USA registration of $48.00. The USA registration fee can be reduced to $7.00 with a free or reduced lunch verification.

Each swim group must have a minimum of 8 swimmers registered for us to proceed with that group for this season.

JUNIOR: April 15 - July 16  6:00-6:45pm M,T, &TH.

This group is our introduction to competitive swimming for all 13&unders. All junior swimmers must be able to swim a 25 freestyle and 25 backstroke. During practice, we will focus on learning and improving all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly), competitive starts, and turns. Primary focus is on fun and stroke development. More advanced Juniors will also be introduced to some basic interval training.  Cost:  $115 (plus seasonal USA registration of $48 if did not swim in fall or winter).

JUNIOR PLUS: April 14 - July 16 6:45-8:00pm M-TH

This group if for experienced middle school athletes grades 6-8. The primary focus of this group is similar to Juniors, but in this group, we build on what is taught in Juniors and introduce athletes to interval training. Athletes in this group must have experience with competitive swimming and confidence in all four strokes and swimming 100s & 200s. New this year: an overhead snorkel will be required(link to order coming soon) Cost:  $220 (plus seasonal USA registration of $48 if did not swim in fall or winter).  The session may run slightly longer for swimmers who qualify for sectionals or state meet.

SENIOR: April 14-June 18 3:45-5:30pm M-F.  Beginning June 21 - July 16, practices will be Monday & Fridays 8:30-11am, Wednesdays 9-11am, Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30-11:30am at KIK pool (bus leaves LHS at 8:45 am).  There will be two practices at KIK pool on 6/15 and 6/17 9:30-11:30am.  The session may run slightly longer for swimmers who qualify for sectionals or state meet.

The primary focus of the senior group is to continue to work on perfecting their strokes. There will be a huge focus on the fifth stroke, underwater swimming.  Mastering this skill will improve all swimmers.  Focusing on small details that make big impacts is the best way to improve even the best athletes in the water.  The team will begin in April with lots of skills and drills building into strength training, proper technique and fast work throughout the summer.  Traveling to the KIK pool twice a week will give us the opportunity to work on long course skills.  Swimmers will need a set of fins that are their own, plus an overhead snokel, and resistance band. Swimmers can use a kick board, pull buoy and other specific equipment from the bins on deck.  Each swimmer should have a gear bag that is labeled with their name for ease of transition and to reenforce not sharing of equipment for COVID standards.

Swimmers must be in high school or have coaches permission to register for this group. Attendance is expected! Cost: $395 (plus seasonal USA registration of $48 if did not swim in fall or winter).
