Information: 2023 Central Zone Open Water Championship Meet

Join TEAM MICHIGAN for the 2023 Central Zone Open Water Championships! 

MI LSC Registered athletes are eligible when they have achieved the minimum pool time standards listed below.

Qualification times shall be the National A time in the following (in any competition course):

  • Open 5K: Minimum 15-16 “A” Time in 400/500, 800/1000 or 1500/1650 Freestyle
  • 13-14 2.5K: Minimum 13-14 “A” Time in 400/500, 800/1000 or 1500/1650 Freestyle
  • 11-12 2.5K: Minimum 11-12 “A” Time in 200, 400/500, 800/1000, or 1500/1650 Freestyle
  • 10&Under 1.25K: Minimum 10&Under “A” Time in 200 or 400/500 Freestyle

At this event, athletes from Michigan will compete as Team Michigan against other LSC teams from the Central Zone. No Open Water experience is required! This event is a great learning experience for first timers and a great competition for experienced open water swimmers. 

The entry fee for this event is $105, which includes your entry, Team Michigan open water caps, and required Team Michigan admin fees. There is an additional $15 fee to participate in the optional open water camp on Thursday, June 15 (e-mail Dawn Gurley at [email protected] to register for this add-on).
