Rockford Riptide Swim Water Polo Clinic

Join us for the first ever Rockford Riptide Water Polo Clinic.

What: Participants can expect to learn the fundamentals of water polo including rules and format of the game, eggbeater, passing, shooting and drills. There will be focus on learning the concepts and half pool scrimmages. Participants will be split into 2 groups, each have 1 hour, 1 day per week to allow more one on one time with coaches. Assignments will be sent out after registration closes.

When and Where: We will run for 5 weeks, beginning April 25 – May 25. Practices will be held on Tuesdays or Thursdays (depending on what group you are assigned) at the North Rockford Middle School Pool. Practice times are still being finalized.

Who: This clinic is geared towards swimmers with no prior competitive water polo experience. Open to all Rockford Riptide Swim Team members. Any member currently enrolled with Riptide will be eligible to join with coach permission. All participants are required to have a USA membership. If you are currently not a USA registered athlete, you will be charged an additional $84 fee for an annual USA membership.

Cost: The cost will be $125. Registration will open March 1 on Riptides Team Unify page. All swimmers will need a current USA membership to join.

The clinic will be led by Coach Ross, a former All-American water polo player for Rockford High School. He will be supported by our JR Riptide Coaching staff as well. This is a great opportunity to stay in the water and learn a sport that very few have the opportunity for. We will focus on the skills required to be successful in the sport and learn about the importance of teamwork. Expect everyone who participates to leave hungry, tired, but most of all, with big smiles on their faces.
